AI regulation is needed but DeSantis AI summit was political theater headlined by a shitty parent. It was not serious. DeSantis likely state of Georgia has held the line on spending and really put their state in a great place fiscally because of inflation. No doubt that has been a positive. It’s his willingness to lean into populism more than conservatism that discarded him as a good go forward candidate to lead a Post Trump GOP

Also, DeS paid down Fl debt by 50% to one of lowest per cap in nation over period Trump/Biden doubled fed debt & most blue states saw budget crunch. The gdp influx into Fl allowed this.

It’s impossible for me to do my job down at the Portland ICE facility, even with security. I was violently mobbed out by Antifa, and a suspect in black bloc threw a rock at my face. I have zero desire to discuss this further, but everyone is tired of it and wondering why a crackdown on Antifa — a terrorist organization— has not yet occurred.

That is actually funny to me. A governor who has embraced vaccine hesitancy and basically picked a grieving negligent parent as their face of AI reform. I call that theatrics. If AI generates mistakes in medical/legal advice, it should have ample warnings. Impacts of data centers have on utility rates and environment need public oversight.

@james_ptweets1 @Actsout DeS is not anti-vax, he is pro informed consent-lets people choose for themselves. In fact Denmark does not REQUIRE as many vax as US does but people get vaccines at higher rates. Mandates can cause people to rebel and get fewer. Anyone sensible wants some safeguards on AI.

Harris lifted a bulletpoint from Fl AA studies module out of context-same snippet used by AP US history because it was actually factually correct. Also teaching gender studies in grade 3 over real topics is a joke-reason US K12=a failure.

DeSantis has been the best Governor I’ve seen in my lifetime. Term is near an end now though so if I’m Trump, I’d replace Alito with DeSantis. Then we get an actual, confirmable, conservative replacement who we don’t have to worry about. He’d do great and be a legendary justice.

Governor DeSantis didn't have a supermajority until his second term. And, there would not have been a GOP supermajority without his efforts. Moreover, simply having a GOP supermajority is not a guarantee that conservative laws will be passed. True leadership is indispensable.
