@dangambardello I was a teacher. Some parents can do better, most parents can’t handle this role and everything else. But if you do, no one will care about your child’s best interests more than you.

@saylesshomi Oh friend I don’t even want to know how much gas I’ve spent. I’m never checking those tools
English

@JayGenXer I love America. I love my friends in America. But I love my home, so no, I’d stay a Canadian.

@KajCrypto @karbonbased "All vacuums suck now"
I see what you did there...
English

Ok that does it, I’m asking ct
What vacuum do you recommend?
My vacuum history:
First vacuum I had as an adult was a Dyson and it was a fucking beast. Great quality vacuum, super powerful and heavy duty! When it finally shit out on me, I went shopping and was disappointed with the quality of the new Dysons.
The new Dysons felt cheaply made and couldn’t justify the price for something that felt cheaply so I went the other direction, ordered a Shark. I felt like it was good value for how powerful it was but now my second Shark has broken.
should I just ordered a third disposable vacuum, use it for 4 years and get another?
Or should I get something expensive and nice that’ll last a lifetime?

@IDrawCharts Really happy to hear you’re doing well and are happy David 💛

I still trade but I don't do it for a living any more
I'm actually happy about that for a couple reasons
first, I've been self-funded for (most of) my trading career so having other income is just way less stress
but I think more importantly, if you really actually understand what trading is, it's almost impossible to really believe that you're good at it, even when the money is rolling in
Maybe it's just me but it always feels like you're not quite good enough, you're just getting lucky
even when you can prove an edge you're always worried someone's gonna take it tomorrow and you'll end up washed
If you've been trading long enough, celebrating a win almost feels like a sin, you're just waiting to get punished again for it by the market gods.
When you understand variance so it never feels like you can really own that feeling of a job well-done for more than a moment or two because that PnL can disappear tomorrow.
I'm really enjoying "real" (non-trading) work, in that I can actually relax a bit, just be good at it and feel confident about doing well. A win is actually a win, I don't have to go to bed worrying about whether it was luck.
I don't have to go back and analyze whether or not I made a bad decision that just happened to get a good outcome. It's just binary, my work was either good or it was bad, there's no guesswork.
The process of improving and getting better is easier, I know what went wrong or right and I can just... fix it.
It's already really fucking hard to trade well. It's way harder to do it for a living, and even harder to do it with your own capital.
I'm always gonna trade because I absolutely love it, I love thinking systematically, puzzling out the things other people are missing and spending hours thinking, pacing in circles when a new idea hits me.
I love winning hard games.
But I think I'm learning that I'd rather not rely on my trades to pay the bills.
I'll trade to maybe buy a yacht someday instead and if that never happens, at least I'll be able to enjoy the process, learn more about the market and myself
and eventually retire comfortably because I chose to be good at something I love, not because I had to be.

@ChartGuys I think this is a level you get to. You’re right to criticize it for advice as many are not experienced enough to manage trades. It may also be good advice during a market like this has been up only and stops prevent the multipliers

@ChartGuys I love when I come here after awhile and you’re sharing my same thoughts 🤝 right on time
English

@CryptoTickler Thanks, I thought I’d have more time and be back here more. So busy but with things I want to do!
English

@KajCrypto I completely missed this announcement. Nice. I'm about 1 year away.
I hope you are enjoying your new life, Kaj!
