@prerat Interesting, I bet you could do this by just having torque limiters on the joints so they slip under too much force

i think it would be illustrative to build a BJJ alphazero that runs inside a robot who is a bit weaker than you getting physically out-"smarted" by something whose robo muscles arent even as strong as you seems more evocative than losing to a chess engine idk if possible tho

I have my Claude Code set to meow at me whenever it needs my permission to do something naturally, whenever I go to the living room and make myself comfortable on the couch, I hear a loud “Meow!” from the other room i have become obsolete. my job is to feed the cat

@QiaochuYuan i'm sorry but i just plain don't believe this. people have been saying the next generation is dumb for millennia. i can't help but feel like this is another of those moral panics that have always arisen from existential anxiety around aging and not relating to a changing world.

Preregistering an opinion that seemed to surprise a lot of people when I said it at a lightning talk on Fri: boring back-of-the-envelope math leads me to think there will be a Claude-Code-like moment for several other domains of white-collar work by the end of the year, and then things get really weird. You should plan accordingly. (Claude Code got good about 6-12 months after they released it, Claude Cowork was launched at start of year, then you add in some acceleration from CC enabling R&D internally and some deceleration from org distraction)

If you think porn addiction isn't real, you have accepted an extremely limited definition of porn. Society is so addicted to porn that we produce it almost exclusively.

Did you know, aside from obvious sanitary reasons, your top sheet protects blankets from wearing out from friction against the hard and sharp parts of the body? Your hair, nails, and high surface area skin parts all rip and sand fabric a little bit at a time, and it adds up

Bullshit. There is not a single polyamory pair in which one of the two is not a cuckold-in-denial. Most of the times it is the woman, more than 99.9%. She is too much of a coward to let him go, and too much of a progressive to be reluctant to turn this into some kind of a theory. Bullshit. - Women don't like sex, per se. Even the most promiscuous like sex as a symbol of something else, never for what it is. - Men are different. Men in their teens can masturbate without any image in their mind. As a matter of fact, the first ejaculation of most men is this way. Without any fantasy, it just happens. They later link it to women. But it remains a mechanical act. - Most men develop in time a taste for it. As you don't open your fridge and devour all that is in there just because "food is nice", the same. Men who don't do that are like adolescents in their 50s, and are despised first and foremost by other men. - At the same time, women develop a taste for it, and connect it with love. Women start from 0 and increase it to 0.something men start from 1 and reduce it to 0.something. - A working pair works to put this 0.something to the same spot for both. The woman enjoys being the favourite sweetmeat of her man, the man enjoys that his woman gives him a manifestation of her love. And both have fun. - Independently from the pair dynamics, men know that it is hard to get women agree to sex. So, they like any time that they can feel "I could get her if I wanted to". This is normal and standard to any man. - What is not normal is to go all the way to sex. This is insecurity (a man who isn't insecure enjoys the thought that "I could get her", and doesn't need to actually do it) or even worse, cruelty, the enjoyment of showing to your woman that "my 0.something, you know, it is fake, I don't give anything to you". - In the case of polyamory, the sick elements of the man become the priority of the pair. The woman becomes a partner in crime, but she is no longer a partner. She gets nothing. A man loving his woman while having sex with her is her payment. She no longer gets it. She gets nothing more than sperm. - In a minority of the cases (some 10%), there are other perverse elements from the man that become the priority. A man may have masochistic thoughts of "I deserve to have my fridge empty", and enjoy these be enacted with his woman fucking around. Again, she gets nothing. She prostitutes herself for her man's perversion, even if she never gets nothing out of it. - In both of the cases, she may get a satisfaction of a perversion that "I don't deserve love", either "I don't deserve love, so that's why my man denies to give it to me" or "I don't deserve love, so that's why I am using sex like being a whore". All in all, humans are animals who pair. Plato referred to an ancient myth that we used to be double, men and women together in one body, and the Gods were afraid of what we could do and split us in half. Which is a nice story. But please note, in half, not in 2/3.

@valigo Then "modern" FOSS is a bunch of retards that do stupid shit. Like code in Rust or have to anime/furry/non-binary every stupid thing for absolutely no other reason than their own insecurities and self loathing desperation for attention. So you can go fuckboy yourself.

@ADHDForReal I made a 3d model of a false cleaner wrasse, a fish that mimics another fish that symbiotically eats parasites off of bigger fish; but it just takes a bite of them instead. I choose it because of Odell Down Under
