Man taken into custody by police decides to spit in the face of the officer. The officer sleeps the man and finds himself charged and unemployed as a result. ​Police were called to Jackson’s Sports Bar and Grill in Denver, Colorado after receiving reports of29-year-old Brandon Birch causing a major disturbance. Officer Michael Pineda arrived, confronted the combative individual, and successfully placed him in handcuffs. To await a transport vehicle safely away from the main bar area, Pineda moved Birch into the restaurant's keg room and placed him in a chair. ​Once isolated in the room, Birch refused to cooperate. Instead, he launched into a relentless, minutes-long barrage of verbal insults and provocations, challenging the officer and demanding Pineda take off the handcuffs so they could fight. ​Officer Pineda stood his ground, attempting to maintain control of the room—until Birch took it a step too far. ​Birch turned his head and deliberately spat directly into Officer Pineda's face. ​The reaction was instantaneous. Instead of using a standard restraint or defensive maneuver, Officer Pineda struck birch putting him instantly to sleep. The force immediately sent Birch out of the chair and onto the floor ​Immediately after the strike, Pineda could be heard on his bodycam radioing for assistance, stating that he needed a supervisor on scene. ​While police are legally permitted to use reasonable force to protect themselves, the department and the District Attorney deemed the strike purely retaliatory rather than defensive. The consequences were severe for both sides: ​Recovered from the impact but was hit with multiple charges, including third-degree assault (for spitting on a peace officer), assault on a peace officer, trespassing, and disturbing the peace. ​The Denver District Attorney's Office criminally charged Pineda with misdemeanor third-degree assault. Following an internal affairs investigation, Pineda resigned from the Denver Police Department before he could be formally terminated. He later pled guilty to the assault charge, receiving a deferred sentence and mandatory anger management. ​What’s your take on this interaction? I've been following this story since this video surfaced. Ryan Upchurch has explained a lot on TikTok about what's going on in country music. Jelly Roll comes off as an Erika Kirk type who hides behind Christian faith to manipulate people for power. He met Bonnie XO as a sex worker, and the way he describes her in this video sounds like he's always treated her as such. She continued working as a sex worker at the beginning of their relationship, paid off his legal fees, and helped him get custody of his daughter. He was so broke he was living in his car, and his criminal past is unbelievable. The way she talks sounds like a woman who has been manipulated and could never see through it. They even had an open marriage after he cheated on her, and it didn’t sound like she wanted it. I believe their recent divorce was due to him cheating on her again. She’s leaving plenty of clues and has always said he would not get a third chance. The way he portrays himself to the public using God and Bible verses is disgusting. He closed his bar in Nashville that was riddled with scandals and sounds like he was trying to build a group to take over country music. His first tour stop was Palm Beach, Florida and Ivanka Trump attended. Isn’t it interesting that Nichole Arbor described him as Jeffrey Epstein? We need to keep an eye on Jelly Roll and why, in his rise to fame, he became a Christian and has been using that to manipulate his audience. My take on Disclosure Day Pros: Emily Blunt was amazing. Abduction Scene was 10/10 got chills. Covered lots of ground on the phenomenon Score was great. Conveyed mass disclosure very well Cons: Erratic at times with disparate themes being explored simultaneously Ending seemed strange and abrupt CGI animals broke immersion for me. Good watch. Like it alot. Would definitely make for a better 10 episode series with time to explore individual themes. 6.8/10
