I'm excited to announce the inaugural event of the brand new Sex and Gender Law Association on Thursday 4 June. Evening event, central London, open to practising/retired legal practitioners, academics and judiciary interested in these intersecting areas of law.

@JayStrellson @sharrond62 If he says he’s trans, he’d probably sue for gender reassignment discrimination. It would be a weak claim if the University had handled the matter sensibly, but still expensive and disruptive to defend.

@LoudBonnet @UniofOxford Would the comparator not be another man who does not wear such fetishised sexual garb in a provocative manner? Incidentally, and I do not suggest you search, but what sort of websites sell such prosthetics?

@SkaBritanniae @LollyEyesMF I’m not sure what the relevant protected characteristic would be? This sounds like the case designed to test the concept of “gender reassignment” to destruction.

@LoudBonnet @LollyEyesMF If this guy turned up like this at a job interview, full plastic breasts and all presumably we would risk a discrimination claim if we rejected him on the grounds that he was wearing plastic breasts?

@Irate_Jobbie He’s not quite right for Pete, though. The point about Pete is that there’s nothing weird or creepy about him except his presence in a women-only space.

These calculations may be right. But if they are wrong, the downside for @UniofOxford is that he is harassing every woman he interacts with. So even modest awards of compensation could mount up.

Possibly also a calculation that no court or tribunal will dare cross this man to the extent of finding that his behaviour is harassment.

@VinaigretteGirl @AudreySuffolk In a sane world that would unquestionably be found to be sexual harassment/harassment related to sex of female colleagues and students. It is certainly arguable.

Words to live by: “You do you and I will continue to do me”. Nobody’s entitled to political purity from JKR or from anybody else.
J.K. Rowling@jk_rowling

@donotwobble @surreykiwi @tonymc39 @theglassfish13 With respect, you are absolutely trying to police my language by telling me you 'sensed the thin edge of a wedge.' I have no truck with the policing of my language, whichever side it comes from. You do you and I will continue to do me.

@HennieInglis She might think that people are entitled to political purity from JKR, but I doubt it. And certainly she doesn't say it in that clip.

I agree. This is blatant dominance display.
Dr. Dr. P: "No men. No exceptions".@Psychgirl211

No. This is not mere "clownery". Mr Matt Rattley should not be permitted to attend work @UniofOxford to lecture students, (many of whom I imagine, are foreign and paying whacking great fees), presenting in this indecent manner. This is an implicit threat to all women girls. This is an implicit threat to his female students and colleagues. This is Matt Rattley saying, "I can do whatever I please and nobody can stop me". This is highly antisocial, abnormal, boundary-violating, paraphilic behaviour. And we should not be afraid to say so.

Reasons why men should be allowed to take women's stuff: 1 it's really important so men will die if they can't have it 2 it's really trivial so any woman who cares is just being petty and mean

I could have told Kezia this. We all could have. No apology will ever be enough for the true believers and any apology just functions like blood in the water. You could give them everything and it would not be enough. As she will learn. The hard way.
