#OHBM2023 off to a great start!

Among patients with moderate/severe depression (triangles), but not those with no or mild depression (circles), increased insula activation after MTPC was associated with increased Body Trust, a sub-scale of MAIA previously linked with depression (Dunne et al., 2021) 2/2

@EricRLouderback @CMC_CHA Thanks Eric, great question, I would imagine that the finding of brain changes being related to interoceptive awareness could be similar for other disorders which may involve interoceptive dysregulation such as substance use, eating disorders, or chronic pain.

@bencook_equity @CMC_CHA I reported the changes in PROMIS scores here just to show that the fMRI sub-group showed similar changes to the larger study. I focused less on showing clinical efficacy here, and more on investigating the neural mechanisms of changes following MTPC.

@bencook_equity @CMC_CHA Thanks Ben, you are correct, this work was part of our larger MTPC trial (Gawande et al. 2019). The fMRI sub-study only included participants from the treatment arm of the main study (not from the low-dose comparator). Changes in PROMIS scores here were similar to the main study.
