"The broad erosion in support is now threatening MAGA's foundation. "A new CBS News/YouGov poll found Trump's approval among white voters without college degrees—the backbone of his movement—has swung from +36 early in his term to underwater at -4, a 40-point collapse."

💣🐘 Donald Trump is torching the coalition that made him president, seemingly unaware — or simply unconcerned — with the depth of discontent permeating his movement. axios.com/2026/04/14/tru…

Raskin tears Kristi Noem a new one: "Apparently when your blankie was left on one of the govt jets and not transported to the new one, your special govt employee, Corey Lewandowski, chivalrously stepped forward to fight the pilot -- mid air!"

Seems hard for the President to rely on the 15 percent statute (sec 122) when his DOJ in our case told the Court the opposite: “Nor does [122] have any obvious application here, where the concerns the President identified in declaring an emergency arise from trade deficits, which are conceptually distinct from balance-of-payments deficits." If he wants sweeping tariffs, he should do the American thing and go to Congress. If his tariffs are such a good idea, he should have no problem persuading Congress. That’s what our Constitution requires. Trump Says He Will Raise Global Tariff to 15 Percent nytimes.com/2026/02/21/bus… via @NYTimes

Jeff Bezos, who could keep the Wash Post a pillar of American democracy with the change dug out from his limousine seats, sets an example of surrender to authoritarianism for every other business person and institution in America.
Evan A. Feigenbaum@EvanFeigenbaum

The @WashPost has now laid off its Asia editor, its New Delhi bureau chief, its Sydney bureau chief, its Cairo bureau chief, the entire Middle East reporting team, China correspondents, Iran correspondents, Turkey correspondents, and many more. The world is becoming less America-centric by the minute while the United States is becoming more America-centric than ever. It is just a depressing yet somehow perfect summation of our current moment that one of the most important newspapers in the history of the country - one that has actually shaped the history of the United States - doesn't think reporting on the world is of any use anymore. What an utterly perfect encapsulation of where we have arrived.

For the guy who thinks "low ratings" is the worst thing you can say about someone, this must cut @realDonaldTrump, co-producer and star of this year's Kennedy Center Honors, to the core! (Though you'd think his polling numbers would have the same effect.)
MeidasTouch@MeidasTouch

🚨JUST IN: CBS’s Kennedy Center Honors just hit an all-time ratings low. Preliminary Nielsen data shows only ~2.65M viewers tuned in to the Trump-hosted show, down from 4.1M in 2024. A stunning 35% year-over-year collapse.
