.@HWTB it's been clear strategy from the org to get more good pieces under the salary cap & accommodate their stars with big $. Not splashy, but not a bad strat. You could definitely make the argument that they are very active in (pre) free agency for $ savings on quality players

. @HWTB You go after the guys you drafted because 1. they are cheap when you draft them 2. They are cheaper before free agency when you have competition. if you can grow your talent vs pay on the market for them, you're going to do better under salary cap. 1/2

. @derekeagleton @CowboysBreak With my kids, I challenge’em competitively and consider that a way to make them the best they can be. Every time I expose a weakness, I am teaching them to be better. I don’t do it with the spirit to crush them, but to improve them #PrimeToDallas

@acaseofthegolf1 I’ve played this course. In this wind. Used to be my home course. I think I hit driver, 3 wood, 3 wood, 3 wood, 5 iron on one of the par 5s. Balls wouldn’t rest on the greens half the time.

So mad we don’t have video of this US Open local. Full blown carnage. 53!!!!mph gusts. 38 mph sustained winds and 78 was good enough for a playoff.

I think about golf a lot. And lately I've been thinking a lot about my dwindling speed...I rarely crack 100 mph anymore with the driver and courses that used to seem short now seem normal. I'm only in my mid-40s too. Do I do anything about this? Nope... I just eat my pop tarts and don't work out. So I can't really complain. That's all I got...no profound takeaways from this tweet.

This is where golf is headed…save this tweet 😃 The game of golf will change significantly over the next 5-10 years and eventually fall into one of four buckets. 1. High End Private- It won’t have to be a Top 150 but will most likely be comparable. These courses are toys for FU money and the P&L is irrelevant. Mid Tiers that chase tennis, pickleball, restaurant, and swimming pools will eventually die because it can’t work. Some Mids will move into elite because they are purchased by HNW members. Mids are generally run by elite egos but mid to low business acumen. 2. Business Model Courses- These would fall into @Eldricks_hoes “Woke” category. The Park, Sweetens, Landmand, etc…sorry if this offends you. I’ve enjoyed all 3 of those BTW. Fun to play, modern relaxed atmosphere. Must make money cause they are a business. 3. Muni and Resort- These are city/county courses or those on resorts. They aren’t a business but are subsidized and justified by tax dollars or hotels/casinos. Even these are dying. City’s will slowly not be able to justify it and sell off the land. 4. TopGolf and SIM Golf- Basically like bowling league…so not golf. Real estate costs too much and people aren’t willing to commit. It’s a glorified bar or casino. Old fashioned public golf will be dead. Land is worth too much. We are at a point where land value is the only reason to buy a course. Meaning quality goes down and the final buyer will be a developer. There are exceptions but very few. This is the cheapest golf will ever be.

@Outkick @dhookstead She just meant she couldn’t fill out a bracket for the women’s tournament. She’s talking about how women’s sports aren’t covered. And yes she didn’t probably use the correct terminology.

@DakAttackShow Just looking at losses is a minority of our games. this team was built for blowouts. our linebacker depth, and our corner/safety depth was very weak this year. we could rush if we had the lead and the opposing team didn't have a choice. Not really a coaching problem this season.

@_D_a_v_e_y @LouStagner Worthy of considering that the stats being presented are largely the positioning off the tee, less than asserting that just having a 40 yard shot is simpler than a 100 yard shot. The consequences of missing the long drive are more penal for many and a 100 yd shot is safe

@LouStagner 100y presents so many more variable than 40y. The perception that you’re better from 100 is 2 base reasons - it looks better. Lovely lobbed shot bounce n stop. 10 foot is great. 15-20ft decent. Miss, off the green - 5 foot is good 10ft expected. Bad shot 15-20ft

Let's say you are a 5 index. You are choosing to layup to ~110 yards or advance it as far as you can to ~40 yards. Assumptions if you layup to 110 yards: ▶️In fairway 80% of the time ▶️In rough 20% of the time ▶️Scoring average = ~3.24 Assumptions if you advance to 40 yards: ▶️In fairway 20% of the time ▶️In rough 60% of the time ▶️In a recovery situation where you need to punch out sideways 15% of the time ▶️OB where you to to re-load 5% of the time ▶️Scoring average = ~3.20 3.20 from 40 yards 3.24 from 110 yards Stop laying back to full wedge distance.

Soccer already has the 'uncatchable ball rule' - they use it for Offside. it's hard to see how handling would be seen as 'uncatchable/Irrelevant', since it's affecting the center of the game - the ball. even it hitting the ref they stop the game now. @brendanhunting #WWC23

@Top100Rick Sometimes gimmies aren’t for a match but for a league/game and pace of play. But if you don’t make it something ‘measurable’, people will take advantage, so saying ‘inside the putter’ or ‘inside the leather’ is a way to make it (more) fair across multiple foursomes.

My friend measures for gimmies like this. I told him not to, it can damage the hole. He said I’m an idiot and it doesn’t matter. Who is right? (And don’t be the “I never take gimmies guy.” Gimmies are literally part of match play.)

@MattGinella This is a no brainer. Imagine if a college player went straight to liv & went on to be as good as Tiger. By all measurable accounts was obv the best golfer in the world. It would desubstantiate the ranking system to not have him ranked because he played 3 rounds instead of 4.

It seems to me, as a sensible observer, that the system should account for all forms and formats of professional golf. And thus, leads us to something the independent majors can use as a basis for a neutral field/invitations. And then they can still be considered, “Majors.”

I’m neutral on LIV v. Tour. Pros and cons on both sides. But is it really on LIV to conform to World Golf Rankings? Shouldn’t it be on World Golf Rankings to devise a system that applies points/rankings that pertains to all professional competition? If not, then what is it?!

#15 at Astoria CC, a 269 yard par 4. Put my drive up along the right burm and it dropped into the fairway 53 yard out. Chunked the pitch shot, chip and 2 putt for my bogey. Had a great time with Ken and Dowan, 💯going again.
