Creativity on X just died. I’m now on a platform that believes that 99.2% of my follower base shouldn’t matter to me, and that 0% of my content is important to X. My monetization got paused so this wouldn’t be relevant to me currently, but X just made a move in which for many creators it would now be pointless for them to take the platform seriously. Essentially X just made a move to only pay people for content regarding the country they are in and furthermore that native language. So I live in a country in Europe in which only 0.8% of my followers base are from, a country in which barely anything happens of relevance on the world stage, a country in which barely anyone speaks my language. X has just brutally murdered their so called “Global Townhall”, and have basically stated the reason for doing this is that they don’t want people talking about American politics and getting paid unless you are from there which seems to stem from an inability to stop bots on the platform gaming the system and in turn will destroy creators revenue streams to stop them. If you don’t quite understand what this means….. let me paint this very clear to you. All of the ad revenue from this platform will now be flowing to American far right slop accounts like Benny Johnson, Gunther Engleman and Libs of TikTok. Literally nearly all of it. I don’t mean this lightly, you will now see that making 60k-100k every 2 weeks……. People use this platform because they are talking about global issues that are affecting the world and most of all American politics is the thing that affects the word currently. I have built a user base naturally of over 130k followers from taking about things that are important to me. I have always posted openly as a British man, I mean I even have a Union Jack in my profile picture, around a third of my followers that chose to follow me were from the US. A further 70% are from other nations. I grew on this platform because what I discussed was important to others regardless of where they were from. I will not purposely make content on local topics that have no meaning or relevance to me for the sake of getting paid and generating money. This wouldn’t be natural content, it would be forced and disingenuous and furthermore it wouldn’t resonate with any of my follower base. This is the most ridiculous move I have seen X take regarding the platform. What a complete mess. I will continue to post solely about things that are important to me rather than focusing on financial incentives.

Hate to say, but I think Ben Kay is right… A *small* amount has started to creep into games recently.
