@drjenwolkin Hmmmm. You've got me thinking. I always knew I hated small talk...but there's something here that's got me reflecting. Thank you.

It’s hard to feel relevant, when it’s hard to follow a conversation. Many of my patients don’t feel like they belong or like they can be part of something bigger if they can’t keep up. They often say it’s easier to just isolate. This can be a real lived experience of ADHD. XO, Dr. Jen

As a school administrator, I navigate how to support kids with self regulation challenges. Today, my offer to a kiddo returning from suspension was to come to see me 10 minutes before each recess for a while to chat, play cards, whatever! Connection is key. Relationships 1st.

Healing is recognizing your symptoms in the moment and to have the tools to do something about it so you can BE settled and present.

I’m experiencing social media fatigue, busy schedules, constant stimulation things starting to feel forced and I’m noticing myself slipping into this feeling of time scarcity making me feel I need to quicken the pace and rush through life because of the demands of everyday life. My nervous system is telling me I’m close to being overwhelmed. I have less tolerance for clutter, rushing & pressure. I’m tired of climbing mountains daily . I need a reset. I need less noise, less input & more stillness. Going to take a short break & return to quiet honest beauty in living more simply 🙏🌼

@SUNNYSTAR777 @BeTraumaFree @rmharmon2004 Yesterday a victims' advocate told me that "Forgiveness is the F-word." Which struck me as brilliant!

I left my ex husband 30 years ago. I've rarely thought about him since then but recently I decided to look at his social media. I was shocked and dismayed at how much hatred I felt. I have more healing to do regarding him because I don't want to hate anybody.

@_BLShelton Love it! For those of us warriors, this is very sound advice. I have come to love the soft quieter parts of me. But it is also clear to me that being a strong force is just part of who I am, and she has a time and a place.

Warrior mentality is also knowing when to handle yourself and others with gentleness and care. Discernment is badass.

Today is a day I'm so grateful for. Terry Fox's brother Fred came to recognize our school for outstanding fundraising efforts. As a kid, my dad would drop me off to run The Terry Fox Run by myself. Terry was my hero. Meeting Fred & hearing stories, will stay with me forever. 💙🙏

@SteveLovesAmmo I am so sad for him. So sad. Don't know how hard it is for someone to open like that and show such authentic vulnerability?!?! I'm actually angry. 😡 He is so so hurt by her dismissal.

Having a front row seat to my mother-in-law and sister-in-law bully my husband has shown me my own personal growth. I am very proud of myself for showing as much restraint as I have, including staying in my lane & letting him handle the situation.

Despite the week off, I only hit the trail...once. Very unusual for me, but that's what my body asked for. But on Sunday, I was out there taking in all the signs of new beginnings. The green haze is about to begin 🍃🌱🌿🌳

For anyone else trying to navigate nervous system healing, and peri/menopause, neurodivergent experiences...I too, feel your frustration with joint pain, hot flashes, and brain fog. All while trying to have the clarity of mind to make sound decisions. 🤪🥵🧠💫😜

@pigeonxphoenix Oh my friend, reading is never ever a waste of time. Not to mention writers like yourself, have got to keep on reading. That is craftwork. But yes, giving ourselves the gift of time and stillness takes years for some of us to allow for.

@Persistence982 It's hard to wrap our heads around not moving. I spent hours yesterday reading and at the end of the day I felt a bit guilty because I could've been more productive. Gorgeous pictures btw. 💜🫂

@brianmaierhofer Yes. Healing is an active process. I have found I am finally able to enjoy somatic movement. I was locked in a freeze for years. It took me two years of walking to finally move to mobility and light strength movement.

One genuine emotional release will surpass 100 positive affirmations. One hour of somatic practice will outperform 50 hours of reading about mindset. One moment of self-forgiveness will outweigh 1,000 self-improvement strategies.

I went to an extraordinary conference/experience this weekend in Austin. I’m proud of myself. My estrogen patch isn’t absorbing, I gained an absurd amount of weight in little time, I’ve got more pain, and I wanted to hide. But I didn’t! I went, spoke on a panel, and had the time of my life with my girl crew. Celebrate these wins, fam. They matter. XO, Dr. Jen
