One of the benefits that USM had from being the only Ultimate ongoing with a consistent writer is that the characters were able to have defined arcs and linear development which meant that we got to have moment like this where we got to see how MJ had been by everything-

@comicskirby Tho with spidey in particular just the broad editorial thing is kinda simplifying thing, as it comes from a group of writers and editors who wanted that angle. And this is over a book that exists for a tie in to a movie and to play on that era, that was from that group.

@comicskirby The publishing thing is just lack of confidence in anything selling, but that is not unconeted, making the ethos of the company to actively make stuff for shock value, doesnt leave you with a very trusting audience. Tho dan is someone who lies a lot, so boy who cried wolf.

“Do what the fans want” is not a solution to the actual issues with Marvel’s publishing. There are so many actual problems with how Marvel is handling its line, and blaming the creators over the leadership is fandom-brained stupidity.

@comicskirby @RedBoulderPunch People one day will realize Spider-Man getting married again won't magically fix any of the issues the company has or any problem with the character himself It would be like putting a cute sticker on a crusty old desk that's falling apart as an attempt to make it look prettier

@BobbensArtDen Azrael was more due to o'neil leaving, and the quesada thing (quesada co created him, so without o'neil batting for azrael they werent intrested in using him)

Crazy coincidence that the long running series for Superboy, Supergirl, Impulse, Azrael and Young Justice all ended when Dan DiDio became the editor in chief of DC. Must be because they weren't popular.
