We rescued a little corella from a river yesterday at our local park. We saw a juvenile little corella—probably a bit sick and unwell—walking along the pier (as you can see in the video) when she fell into the river. I dashed in and managed to get her out with the help of my partner. We figured she probably wouldn’t survive if we just put her back into the wild, so we took her home, kept her dry and warm overnight, and waited for an animal rescue to pick her up. This morning, a member from WIRES came and collected her. They’ll monitor her over the next few days, and hopefully she’ll be released back into the wild once she’s well again.
