@CBoTheEggman Russia is in no shape to invade anyone, as the war with Ukraine has utterly hollowed out their military and devastated their economy.

Is there anything that could bring on World War 3 more than NATO being dismantled? It would give Russia a green light to invade Europe. Do Trump supporters really never think about this?

I’m very happy for the Chagossian people. It seems that finally there’s some solid progress. They’ve worked hard and passionately for the right of self-determination and to return to their homeland. They deserve it. Many others have supported them and their sterling efforts, hats off to one and all👏 🇬🇧🇮🇴

EXCLUSIVE Sir Keir Starmer has been forced to drop legislation which would cede sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius in a further deterioration of relations with Donald Trump The Times has been told that a bill underpinning the controversial deal will not be included in the King's Speech next month after the US president branded it an "act of great stupidity" and withdrew his support The government stands by the deal and will attempt to persuade Trump to change his mind but has acknowledged that it cannot proceed without his backing Ministers are "deeply frustrated" with Trump, who initially supported the deal after extensive discussions between intelligence agencies but changed his mind during a dispute with Nato over plans to seize Greenland The government believes that it puts the future of Diego Garcia, the UK-US base in the islands which has been used during the Iran war, at risk It is concerned that Mauritius will mount a legal challenge granting it access to the waters around Diego Garcia, making it harder for the base to host nuclear submarines and patrol surrounding waters The deal was highly contentious. It would have seen Britain hand over the islands to Mauritius before immediately entering into a 99-year lease for Diego Garcia. The government claimed it would cost £3.5billion, although the Tories disputed this and said it would cost £35billion his over its lifetime. thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

@RichardGrenell @nickshirleyy @USAttyEssayli @AGRobBonta Newsom has been "leading the charge" alright, leading the effort to charge US taxpayers for fraud that ends up funneled to his cronies and corrupt unions, which in turn donate to his war chest.

Gavin is a fraud. His party controls everything throughout the state - and they chose to let the schemes unfold because they loved the campaign contributions UNTIL @nickshirleyy and @USAttyEssayli investigated. @AGRobBonta is a crook who failed to do anything while this fraud took hold statewide because he benefited too!

California is again leading the charge against large-scale identity theft and hospice fraud. Today, we're taking decisive action against 14 providers who tried using stolen identities to bill Medi-Cal for nonexistent hospice services.

@VickyRichterUSA And who here is confident Starmer, facing a budget with welfare costs exceeding tax revenue, won't take a hard look at an expensive, non-strategic pair of tiny islands 8000 miles away, and abandon the residents as he has everyone else.

A brief reality check, if I may. This enduring fantasy that Argentina somehow fields a superior military to Britain is, quite simply, detached from fact. The Royal Navy remains vastly more capable than its Argentine counterpart, and the Falklands are no longer the lightly defended outpost of 1982 but a properly reinforced and secured territory. So no — the islands are not “up for debate,” nor is the balance of power. Romantic nationalism is not strategy.

Bayonets, Mud, and Resolve: When Men, Not Hashtags, Held the Line As a German veteran, I will say this plainly: Forty-four years ago, over 100 ships of the Royal Navy sailed south following Argentina’s invasion of the Falkland Islands. No hashtags. No commentary panels. Just orders—and men who followed them. Before “Bravery” Became a Word People Tweet Today, courage is often performed. Back then, it was carried—40kg on your back, across wet, freezing, unforgiving terrain that punished every step. No comfort. No spotlight. No guarantee. And when the march ended? Bayonets fixed. Hand-to-hand combat. In darkness. In brutal conditions. Against an enemy just as determined. The Kind of War That Doesn’t Fit a Narrative This is the kind of war that doesn’t translate well into modern slogans. Because it wasn’t theoretical. It was endurance. Discipline. Grit. A refusal to break when everything—from the weather to the exhaustion—told you to. The Men Behind the Memory And here is the part that matters most to me: I am proud and honoured to know two of those men personally—and to call them friends. Not legends in headlines. Men who carried the weight, walked the distance, and stood their ground. Not a Slogan—A Standard “The Falklands will always be British” is easy to say. What made it true was something far harder: Men who went through hell—and did not step back. No irony needed. Only respect.

@VickyRichterUSA I haven't seen anyone claim Argentina has a superior military. Your list leaves out an analysis of how many of those British assets could leave the docks, let alone travel 8000 miles. Forget the navy, reinforcement of the Islands would have to be done by air bridge.

“Among the Best” — Yet Thrown to the Wolves How gracious of him to praise Britain’s Armed Forces. One might then reasonably ask: why pursue policies that reopen investigations into the very veterans who once fought in their name? Why dismantle protections and expose soldiers to endless legal jeopardy over conflicts long concluded? Fine words cost nothing. Loyalty, however, is measured in action. And on that measure, many will see not support — but something uncomfortably close to betrayal.
