The USAS 12 is only classified as a Destructive Device by name not design. There's nothing stopping Turkey from making them for import under a different name.

@jjreeves I primarily carry DA/SA pistols appendix.

Recurring comment I get in videos about DA/SA guns (this comment is from today's Sig P226X video on TFBTV): "Why would anyone want a DA/SA pistol?" There's a great answer to this question: Safety and simplicity. There's something I like to call the "safety paradox." >Generally< people who want pistol safeties are often novices who might have difficulty manipulating them reliably under pressure, while people who can reliably manipulate safeties usually don't want them. DA/SA pistols make an excellent compromise because there's no safety to toggle (or you can get a DA/SA with a safety and decide to carry with safety on or off). Further, the first trigger pull would be unlikely to occur accidentally because the initial trigger pull weight exceeds 10lbs. However, subsequent pulls are much lighter. There's also the flexibility to cock the hammer on the first pull should it be warranted. There are other benefits that I'm sure will be mentioned in the replies, but I think the DA/SA is a great option for new shooters/carriers who are nervous about either manipulating a safety or carrying a light-ish trigger striker fired pistol with one in the chamber.
