Why can’t both these things be true:
1. Boomers got jobs and worked hard in an America that hadn’t yet globalized and also reaped the benefits of later globalization
2. Gen Z has a harder time getting jobs because of that same globalization, not because they don’t work hard

Here Bernie conflates the affordability of a tax with its fairness. By analogy, if you’ve spent an hour more on a group project than everyone else, you might be able to afford to spend more time on it, but that wouldn’t make that demand fair.

Ok, Jamie: Let me clear things up for you. If my 5% wealth tax on billionaires was enacted you’d owe $135 million more in taxes & a family of 4 making $150,000 or less would receive a $12,000 payment. Oh, and you’d still be worth more than $2.5 billion. Seems pretty fair to me.

Trust me. We "value" educators way too much for the results they produce.
