Superb day. Early bus from Siracusa to Palazzolo Acreide, an ancient Greek colony of an ancient Greek colony, had the exquisite 3rd century BCE theatre to myself and spent the afternoon in a cafe continuing memoirs, 3000 words on the return to Shrewsbury in 2003.

Three hour break from writing. Etna omnipresent on this side of the island.

To write memoirs one has to spend February in Sicily. It’s the law.

When I repeat something a million times to learn it & the neighbours are in I switch to my electronic Kawai. The vibraphone setting is fun. No dynamics but it makes you emphasise articulation which is good. So: GUESS THE COMPOSER?
