@TheKLHerd @Gentilenewsnet @hayasaka_aryan affecteusement, ma cousine créole! it wasn't until bastards like him came into louisiana and imposed their bs on us. the gens du couleur libres in new orleans (which was like 25% of the city) were some of the most wealthiest in the city.

Black people think white people’s mac and cheese is always like that cause that’s how they serve it in public schools and prisons

@Richard_Labit @a_shilage @Gentilenewsnet @hayasaka_aryan Well gumbo originated in Louisiana and is a mix of multiple different cultures. Claiming it to be African is disingenuous when it’s west euro, African, French and Spanish even has Caribbean and German influences because Louisiana was a melting pot of different cultures

@a_shilage @Gentilenewsnet @hayasaka_aryan According to whom? And how? If gumbo was strictly a/an iteration of a French or a Spanish dish, it would have retained its original name, as has food like andouille and boudin have.

@Gentilenewsnet @hayasaka_aryan Gumbo for instance, the etymology of the word is thought to come from Africa from the word for okra (which is native to East Africa, and is used in gumbo to thicken it). there is a cadien gumbo and a créole gumbo.

@Gentilenewsnet @hayasaka_aryan No, they aren't. Cajun/Creole cuisine takes influences from French, West African, and Spanish dishes. Maybe you should look into what Louisiana Creole is before you speak, you fucking idiot.
