A Gentleman in Moscow is a fantastic show. It’s a brilliant tribute to the importance of manners and decency in an increasingly dark and and unpleasant world, and a stunning rebuke of Soviet Communism. It’s will worth your time to watch it. My one quibble is the choice they made with apparently race-blind casting… not because the actors were bad, they weren’t, because as an audience member I’m tuned to try to read things into casting choices. I spent a while trying to figure out what they were trying to SAY by making specific characters a race that would be uncommon to find in their positions in Russian and Soviet society at the time before realizing that nothing was being said at all. So go in with that in mind. Still if you’re looking for some bashing of Communism and a great depiction of how the fruits of utopian idealism can be turned into a living nightmare A Gentleman in Moscow is a strong recommend

Ben Shapiro—after telling his audience for months that bombing Iran wouldn't lead to a wider war, and then claiming the war was just going to be a quick bombing campaign—is now telling Americans to prepare for a long war. "There is no way to extricate ourselves from this situation right now." Americans only got "tired" of Vietnam after 50,000 troops died, he says. "Our" military members are "heroes" because they're willing to "sacrifice" their lives "for a greater good"—a future world where "energy will become cheap again because the Strait of Hormuz will be free again."

To repeat, Bessent is a naive retard AND doesn't know he doesn't know anything abt history & dynamics. This is the most stupid analogy, particularly for someone who cites my work. Wars almost NEVER reduce uncertainty. The Great War was supposed to be a couple of weeks of war for a permanent peace, later assumed to end all wars, etc.
