@NFLNotify Here's the thing about the Bears ... they won only 5 games, but could easily (perhaps should), with better coaching, have won 8 or 9. There's more talent there than their record shows. I don't think it's ridiculous to talk about 10-12 wins in 2025. Stranger things have happened!

Illinois won all 4 games in the NCAA tournament by double-digits. That’s not easy to do. Put some respect on this team. They are ALL THE WAY for real.

@FischerKing64 Unfortunately, they do it because they can. And if the don’t, someone else will. I believe mugshots are considered a public record, so I don’t think the police have the option not to release them when someone asks.

Whether it’s Tiger Woods or Shia Leboeuf or Reese Witherspoon or Nick Nolte - there is no need to publish their mugshots.

@AngelMD1103 Unpopular opinion: the reason courtrooms have so much formality is to emphasize the gravity of what’s happening there. The judge literally sits above everyone. It’s not a place for wisecracks, especially ones that come at the expense of the judge. The IT guy should know that.

This got awkward FAST… ⚖️ During a remote court hearing, an IT technician tried to fix an audio issue and casually joked it was a “false alarm.” But the judge didn’t take it lightly at all—he immediately asked to speak to the technician’s supervisor. What seemed like a small comment quickly turned into a tense moment in court. Do you think the judge overreacted, or should professionalism be taken that seriously in a setting like this?

@RyanDanz This is what should have been said in 2021, though. Most of the pain you describe is self-inflicted, a result of that first terrible crash, after which he was absolutely given a pass. It mystifies that he didn’t face harsher consequences after that.

@kiiLkenny He got a pass in 2021, probably in part because he was raked over the coals so badly following the first scandal. But there’s a “fool me twice” feel to it this time around.

They’ve been well documented, and this probably puts the nail in the coffin for any potential honorable final “comeback.” But in the midst of all this, let’s not rewrite history. He had to do a 2 yr humiliation ritual for cheating on his wife. The apology he was forced to give before the 2010 Masters was actually one of the most racist things I’ve ever seen. He clearly wasn’t a role model, and he was an even worse husband. They treated this dude like an axe murderer. It was the only opportunity for “old golf” to fight back after he beat the shit out of the entire tour & its legacy for a decade. This man is no saint, he’s far from it, and he’s fucking lucky he hasn’t killed someone from behind the wheel yet. This is another depressing chapter in one of the most complicated sports legacy’s of our lifetime. But the idea that today’s incident is the result of Tiger Woods “getting a pass” in the media is absurd, and I’d argue it’s closer to the complete opposite.

Has there ever been a walk-off birdie on 18 to win the Masters in regulation? By that I mean, not a playoff, and it's the literal last shot of the event, and player needed it to win by one. O'Meara is closest one I can think of but Couples had a par putt after him.

@Shuttlecock I think it was more than critics. Fans who came of age with the original trilogy, after waiting so long for more, were genuinely disappointed that the prequels weren't more like the original. Fans like you, without 2 decades of expectation, watched them with fresh eyes--and love.

The thing is, a whole generation didn’t hate the Star Wars prequels. I was 18 when Phantom Menace came out, saw it opening night with a few friends from student res, and then rewatched it at least three or four times in the theatre over the next month or so. Pretty much everyone saw this movie (and EpII & III). Guys and girls. Nerds and casuals. Many went multiple times (the box office numbers prove this). The merch sold through the roof, every magazine featured cover stories with the cast, most casual fans thought Jar Jar was funny while the Star Wars nerds were obsessed with the tech behind the character. Girls loved Padme’s fashion while straight guys loved Portman. The online fandom was hyperactive with fan theories, fan art, etc with a very clear even split between the male/female demos. Fan and general public reaction was insanely positive. This particular scene became ICONIC. 98% of the negativity came from the professional film critics. TPM wasn’t perfect by any means but the media definitely tried to push the message that it was a disaster, Jake Lloyd sucked, and that Jar Jar was offensive and racist. This weird gaslighting that it was the fans who were negative and toxic is just current media trying to do damage control for just how negative they were at the time.

@AlexMyers3 This is such a common pattern, though. Win a few majors in a short span, everybody thinks you're going to win a bunch more, then you never quite get it done. Shows how hard it is to win them consistently. Spieth. McIlroy (for a time). Harrington. Strange. Miller! Who else?

Great point. Even crazier? He had the longevity to nearly win a major TWENTY-FIVE years later and still never won another one.

@nickgillespie What's the official story of why he was written out, do we know? Seems like it would have been better just to have him go off to college and never be heard from again--rather than just vanish into thin air. (They could have kept him on "stand-by" for possible holiday shows.)
