Chris Piper, a 2021 Circa Survivor co-champion, died in April, his family confirmed Saturday. The cause of death was likely a respiratory infection, according to a family member. Piper was a professional bettor from Las Vegas, finished fifth in the @CircaSports Friday Football Invitational in 2023. @DerekJStevens @mattyoumans247 @CircaMaestro

Lost my best friend yesterday and it hurts so bad so excuse my ramble Like so many, my love of sports came from my dad since I could barely talk. He lived for his kids. I was so blessed he paid for all of my schools and yet he was still all in when I decided to leave my career to help start action. He listened to every single one of my podcasts and always needed to know what I bet so he could follow along. He was a huge Duke basketball fan and I loved rooting against his teams for some reason aka he would give me 20 bucks every time they lost which didn’t happen often in the 90s (I will never have a higher ROI since I never had to pay). He was under the basket when Laettner hit his famous shot at the spectrum. I was only 6 so don’t remember but I apparently cried and didn’t talk to him for 2 weeks. Fast forward 25 years when I married a UK girl and he never stopped joking I only did it to get him back for that Laettner shot. Man beat cancer twice but the third time was too much. He didn’t have the heart to tell us the third time it spread everywhere but he at least went peacefully. Football and college basketball weekends will never be the same without being able to call him but I’m so happy G Jr. got to meet the G the 4th even though I’ll be perpetually sad he won’t get to watch him grow up. Love you forever pop

Fast Times at Ridgemont High is on the Sundance channel now and this is one of my favorite movies. It’s a classic from 1982, back when the NBA was in the midst of an awesome era. The basketball games this weekend were mostly garbage.

@NotTheeWillHill I know I'm in the minority but the NFL draft doesn't excite me at all. I'd much rather watch an NHL/NBA playoff game. I don't understand the men who get all dressed up in team gear and cheer or boo a selection they have no idea about. Draft grades are also a joke.

To me the NFL Draft is a top 3 day of the year because we also get NBA + NHL playoffs plus MLB games. What are top 5 days of the sports calendar?

- "free" easily accessible ice & water throughout the parks and hotels was a nice surprise. - Express Pass is so worth it. - How To Train Your Dragon is a great family coaster. - Harry Potter overload, I can't remember which ride was what, but Hagrid's Motorbike was awesome.

4 days at Universal Orlando parks is done. - Velocicoaster & Stardust Coaster both lived up to the hype, reminded me of Cedar Point worthy rides. - Nintendo World was impressive. - The Simpsons ride can kiss my ass (vertigo). - My feet hurt.
