@TheDunkCentral Let me get this straight . Your argument is that the Knicks were actively fouling to STOP Wilt from scoring 100? And that's the same as Miami fouling / deliberately missing free throws to artificially add time to the clock?

ESPN’s Mike Greenberg defends Bam Adebayo and says the ending of Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point game had a lot of fouls too “For people on Twitter saying they made the end of that game bad — you never saw the end of that game in 1962 (Wilt). A similar thing happened that same night: the Knicks were intentionally fouling Chamberlain’s teammates so he wouldn’t try to go for 100 points. History doesn’t write down how you got there; history writes down the number. History will record forever that last night Bam Adebayo scored more points in a game than anyone ever has except Wilt Chamberlain.” (Via @GetUpESPN / h/t @HeatCulture13 )

@BrettSprigg @NaCheers A half back flanker gets 80 disposals, but 43 of them are kick ins. Oh and the other defenders managed to fumble through 20 touched behinds in the last quarter to allow him to get more kick ins.

What would be the AFL equivalent of Bam Adebayo’s 83 points?

I’ve literally had math geniuses try to explain to me how a negative times a negative equals a positive, and I still don’t get it It doesn’t. If you have nothing, and then more nothing, you don’t have something. You have nothing Math is a psyop!

@KLChouinard I don’t love the idea of having Kuminga play his way to a big deal. I get he has been in Kerr’s dog house but I don’t love the trade.

@a_whomst @IMEhud @ReaperGreen1 @Math_files Using a number other than zero: The division of exponents rule says a^m/a^n = a^m-n. Eg 5³ divided by 5² = 5¹. Try it on a calculator. Now try 5²/5². It equals 5^° and also equals 1. If we replace the 5 with 0 we just divided by 0

Did you have one of these back in the day? Basically, the predecessor of the Game Boy (launched in 1989), the Game & Watch handheld games started in 1980. I remember having Green House, Donkey Kong (still have it today), and one where you had to rescue people jumping from a burning building. You controlled a team of firefighters holding a net to help the people jump out and into an ambulance, I think. Which did you have?

@IMEhud @ReaperGreen1 @Math_files Something to the power of zero means it has been divided by itself due to the division rule of exponents. Since we can't divide by zero, we can't have 0 to the power of 0 either

Hands down one of the best fighting games of the 80s: International Karate (System 3, 1985), created by the legendary Archer MacLean, with music composed by the equally legendary Rob Hubbard. To this day, anytime I hear the music, I am instantly teleported back in time. One of the catchiest and coolest tunes, fitting this game like a glove. For 1985 (ZX Spectrum) and 1986 (C64) this was brilliant. The animations, the sound effects when landing a hit, the "nut-punch", the different backdrops (gorgeous!), the bonus rounds where you headbutt your way to a bigger bonus, just everything about this game felt perfect, including the 2 player mode of course. This was around the time when Karate and Kung Fu were all the hype (think Karate Kid, Enter the Dragon, Karate Tiger, etc.), when the Bruce Lee games were published as well as Way of the Exploding Fist. Being a kid the 80s, and playing this late night at sleepovers is one of the best memories I have.

@BTRowland Hi Brad could you check out the defensive ratings too? As you've said multiple times we aren't "better without Trae" but there are compromises. Can we rebuild around a different guard? If Trae took a reduced contract could we add more pieces to support?

Noted this on the pod but feels relevant after the Hawks couldn't score last night. Trae Young has played in ~15% of Atlanta's minutes this season. In the other ~85% of minutes, ATL has an ugly 112.5 offensive rating. That would rank 25th in NBA. Real questions on offense.

Watching that session, you can't tell me this pitch is currently playing easier than the mcg did last week. Batters holding their line, not giving away their wicket for free, and being able to come in when bowlers are on their third spell really helps hey #Ashes2025

@KP24 KP I agree with everything you've written here, but I have to say I find it difficult when you play both sides. On day 1 weren't you saying the pitch had to come under criticism?

I’ve given The Ashes more thought - what I mentioned a while back about batting techniques is ringing louder and louder. Reemphasising previous opinion, that they’re simply not being built on the foundations of defence. It’s so good to see other former players now acknowledging the same modern day flaws. So when you get a wicket that’s quite spicy, the result like MCG will happen. I like to find solutions for noticeable issues but I can’t find one with this. T20 cricket now governs the world game and defence is certainly not a priority for the modern day player. You CANNOT blame the player. He is a business and must take all the cash he can! I’ve always backed the players! The question remains - do the powerhouses that govern the game want Test Cricket to survive or is it merely lip service to the loyal fans of that form of cricket? Is the money for boards so good in franchises for domestic tournaments too good to not prioritise it? Why didn’t SKY take the Ashes, being the UK’s home of cricket? I seriously don’t know the full answers to these questions. I’m in SA and Boxing Day in Cape Town was a T20! As someone who belongs to the 100 Test Club, it’s v v hard to watch…

@rohan_connolly Gap between bat and pad, only considering pushing the bat towards the ball. A symptom of white ball / flat deck dominance for more than a decade. Bad luck. Test cricket should test all facets including oh I dunno, temperament and technique!

Yes this track has plenty of spice, but those of us old enough to remember the REAL horror MCG pitches turned out in the early '80s would argue it's far from unplayable. Just not convinced batting techniques and concentration are anywhere near as good as they once were. #ashes

The Last Ninja (1987, System 3) lives rent free in my 80s gamer brain. Not just for how it made me feel playing it back then, but also how incredible it sounded. The music was mostly done by Ben "Music God" Daglish (born in 1966, passed away too early in 2018), and it added such a massive amount of adrenalin to the game, that it's hard to put into words. Most games use music as the "sprinkle on top", here it was at least as iconic as the game itself. I know that the gameplay is not the most unique, it's a straight forward action-adventure with some mildly challenging puzzles and some more tricky jump sequences (the rocks on water jump part is legendary...), but playing this was such a blast. The 80s were also the peak of Karate and Kung Fu movies, so The Last Ninja matched that vibe perfectly. Every kid in the 80s probably watched Bruce Lee movies or the Karate Kid movies, so playing a badass Ninja battling bad dudes was just epic.
