🗒️ New Publication Alert from the #SleAPProgram! 🗒️ 🔗 Read here: shorturl.at/y5dkl Spotlight of our SleAP fellow @AmeyaPappu latest work with @SASM_HQ exploring the value of dual-credentialing in Anesthesiology & Sleep Medicine. Dual-credentialed team members combine sleep medicine & anesthesiology expertise, and enhance perioperative care and patient safety. Key Findings: ✅ Interest & Awareness: High interest in sleep medicine, yet only 38.9% of trainees know of fellowship paths. ✅ Challenges: Barriers include limited residency exposure & time constraints, underscoring the need for better support. ✅ Dual-Credentialing Benefits: Improved interdisciplinary roles & skills among dual-credentialed anesthesiologists make them uniquely equipped to handle complex perioperative cases. 🔍 Why It Matters: Bringing sleep medicine into anesthesiology training will enhance patient care standards, and we’re proud to lead this change with support from #DAPM @UHN @WCHospital @UofT Thanks to all collaborators @SASM_HQ for advancing these conversations. In the recent @CASUpdate #CASAM2024 #CASAM24 meeting, prestigious #RichardKnill competition | @SleAPprogram fellow @AmeyaPappu presented our preliminary findings on improvements in objective, and subjective sleep health parameters in patients with chronic neuropathic pain, undergoing spinal cord stimulators. Patient and provider feedback has been exceptional, and we have incorporated actigraphy for all patients. Understanding the bidirectional relationship between pain, and sleep is prudent in improving the quality of life of our patients. Thanks to all the co-investigators, and mentors, and the multi-disciplinary team. @MndpSingh7 @DrAnujBhatia #DAPMToronto #DAPM #SleepHealth #sleeppeeps #sleep #pain #chronicpain
