@JessPalmadessa Just bring in heavy equipment and knock down anything that’s burning. Stop fucking around and end it.

@CollinCorbett If they went to Chicago, these European fans would actually experience all the shit they’ve been hearing about from their media. Why would we ever do that?
English

16 different host cities for the World Cup. Chicago isn't one of them.
That's tens of thousands of tourists who aren't spending money in Chicagoland right now. Road trips that aren't traveling through Illinois. A wasted opportunity to showcase America's 3rd largest city on the world stage.
Why? Because we couldn't afford it. Illinois and Chicago are in fiscal and economic death spirals, and it's bankrupting our potential.
When cities like Kansas City are thinking bigger than we are, it's time to look in the mirror. Chicago is a world class city. It's time we started acting like it.

🚨#BREAKING: Hunting, fishing, trapping, animal research, lethal pest control, & livestock production could be banned in Oregon under a new proposal.

@NinersLead Cut Kap, he was a cancer in the locker room and put himself above the team causing a huge distraction. Start Brock and keep Alex in reserve.

@lilburritogal Tell the crackheads it’s full of copper that they can have. They’ll have it out in no time so they can strip the building in peace.

Okay, since you asked, here’s my American opinion.
Soccer will never be as popular in America as football for 3 reasons:
1. The Fake Injuries
Players are incentivized to flop because the other team is more likely to get a penalty.
In football, it is the opposite. If a player has a real injury, play toughs it out and plays through it, it is seen as heroic.
Americans like toughness and grit.
2. Chance Goals
Many goals are scored by chance as opposed to skill. The chaos at the net when the ball is near is remarkable. Defenders blocking the goalie’s line of sight. The ball bouncing and ricocheting off of random body parts often determines if the ball goes in the net or out of bounds.
In football, there are some elements of chance, but because players are allowed to use their hands, the points are primarily scored based on skill. Less is left to chance.
Americans like control.
3. Low Scoring
In football, it is still challenging to score, but it happens much more often. Also, every play has a chance for gratification and excitement: a first down, a big catch, a big hit, a sack, an interception, etc
American like constant excitement.

Worst thing about this World Cup is hearing football opinions from Americans

@HistorianUSA1 Should have just fired up a jackhammer every time she started speaking.

Active construction site. Rebar sticking out of the ground everywhere and Karen strolls right in like she owns the place while rocking flip-flops.
Workers: “Ma’am, you could get hurt. You can’t be in here.”
Karen: immediate screaming, finger-pointing, and having a full meltdown because of the noise.
These guys stayed professional the entire time while she lost it. She eventually gets walked out and they told her she could be arrested.
Who in their right mind walks into an active construction site b!tchg about the noise? They wont stop simply because it bothers you.
Entitlement is a hell of a drug. 💀

@SOrbit31914 allow her 7 free punches in the guy’s nuts. Then let the fight begin.

@49ersSportsTalk I’ll give Kittle the slight edge. Even though the first ever jersey I bought was Davis.
English

In their Prime, Which #49ers TE are you taking:
Vernon Davis OR George Kittle
Who’s your pick? 👇 🏈

English

@WetDirt2000 @engineco16 No, knock down the walls so they can get to the burning insulation and put it out. Then start cleaning up. The food is going rot more if they are fighting the fire for weeks.
English

@SoCalMacGuy @engineco16 And bury the rotting food? Ewwwwwwwwww

Update on the Boyle Heights Lineage Commercial Building Fire, Los Angeles #LAFD
Incident Objectives:
The LAFD has transitioned its strategic goals to manage the extended aftermath of the commercial blaze.
Biohazard Mitigation: Crews are pivoting from hazardous materials to containing the biohazard threat posed by the 85 million pounds of spoiling frozen food inside the building.
Defensive Suppression: Firefighters are using water-dropping helicopters and external lines to target deep hot spots between the pallets and collapsed roof because structural compromise prevents crews from safely entering.
Hazmat & Environmental Monitoring: Teams have pumped out the building's toxic anhydrous ammonia lines to eliminate chemical community risks, while continuing to track airborne particulate matter with the South Coast AQMD.
Public Information Coordination: Officials are seeking a joint city and county state of emergency declaration to secure state resources and handle regional smoke advisories.
Estimated Duration:-
The LAFD expects this firefighting operation to be an extended event that could last for days or weeks. Even though forward progress of the open flames has been halted, the 500,000-square-foot facility acts like a giant insulated cooler. The corrugated steel walls are filled with highly dense foam that is burning very slowly and continually off-gassing deep within the structure. Because firefighters cannot enter the interior due to roof collapse risks, they must let the deeply buried pockets burn themselves out while keeping the fire as contained as possible from the perimeter.
If you live nearby or smell smoke, would you like information on active smoke relief shelters in the area, or the latest air quality recommendations from local health officials?

@lalovestrump IN-N-OUT is fine as a fast food burger. Their fries are criminally undercooked though.

@KalshiGridiron @HondoCarpenter Wow, you really scooped the entire world with this nugget of wisdom.
