We're hosting an NFT founders meet up for Consensus Miami. If you're going to be in Miami for Consensus and work in NFTs you are invited (limited spots available). There's still some problems we need to fix, & I hope to see most of the NFT leaders there.

@sircryptotips This is why I AM an atheist. It's all so random.

I have Claude Code fully integrated into my smart glasses
Everywhere I go I am now vibe coding
When you are talking to me in real life, I am not paying attention to you. I am nodding, but I have no idea what you are saying.
That's because I am silently shipping. I am watching the green lines of the terminal scroll by at all times. I am silently giving commands to my glasses on what to build next.
I am reaching record levels of LOC shipped. There are multiple lakes in Michigan that no longer have water in it because of me
I am using up my Claude plan faster than anyone else on earth. Nobody can match my velocity.
If you are building a competing product, it is over. Give up. Unless you have Claude Code being projected into your cornea at all hours of the day, you simply have no shot.
GGs.

The weirdest divorce in Silicon Valley started today:
- Elon Musk helps launch OpenAI in 2015
- the pitch is simple
- build AGI for humanity
- keep it nonprofit
- stop Google from controlling the future
- make powerful AI benefit everyone
- Musk becomes the money
- Altman becomes the operator
- Brockman becomes the builder
then the dream starts changing
2015 to 2017
- Musk puts in around $38M
- OpenAI grows
- compute gets expensive
- talent gets expensive
- “open-source AGI for humanity” starts colliding with reality
2018
- Musk leaves the board
- OpenAI says he wanted control
- Musk says the mission was slipping
- the bromance starts turning into a cold war
2019
- OpenAI creates a capped-profit structure
- Microsoft enters the picture
- billions start flowing
- the nonprofit dream gets wrapped inside a for-profit machine
2022
ChatGPT explodes
suddenly OpenAI is not a research lab anymore
it is the centre of the AI boom
- Microsoft partnership gets deeper
- valuation goes vertical
- Altman becomes the face of AI
- OpenAI becomes the company every government, investor and founder watches
then Musk comes back
2024
- sues OpenAI
- sues Sam Altman
- sues Greg Brockman
- says the original mission was betrayed
- says the nonprofit was turned into a wealth machine
- says his money, name and reputation were used to build something he never agreed to
OpenAI responds
- says Musk knew the direction
- says he wanted control
- says he walked away
- says he is now attacking a competitor
- says this is sour grapes from the founder of xAI
then the court docs start leaking
and this stops looking like a normal lawsuit
it starts looking like the group chat from hell
- old emails
- private messages
- internal notes
- alleged diary entries
- arguments over control
- arguments over money
- arguments over who gets to steer AGI
the Brockman diary becomes the bombshell
court filings point to private 2017 notes where Brockman appeared to question whether OpenAI could honestly say it was committed to staying nonprofit
one reported line hits hardest:
if they became a B-corp later, the nonprofit promise would look like “a lie”
Musk’s lawyers say this proves the bait-and-switch
OpenAI says private notes are being ripped out of context
then it gets even messier
- Altman allegedly flattered Musk in texts
- Musk allegedly insulted OpenAI staff
- Shivon Zilis gets pulled into the document war
- Zuckerberg’s name appears in related released messages
- Satya Nadella is expected to testify
- Brockman is expected to testify
- Altman is expected to testify
- Musk is expected to testify
this is not a normal trial lol, far from it
this is the founding mythology of AI being cross-examined
the official legal fight is about:
- breach of charitable trust
- unjust enrichment
- whether OpenAI violated its founding mission
- whether the for-profit pivot should be unwound
- whether Altman and Brockman should be removed
- whether damages should go back to the nonprofit
but the real fight is deeper
who gets to own the company building god?
because that was always the contradiction
OpenAI said:
AGI should benefit all humanity
then reality said:
- you need billions in compute
- you need Microsoft
- you need closed models
- you need enterprise contracts
- you need investors
- you need power
that is the “conspiracy” angle
maybe OpenAI was always going to become this?
maybe the nonprofit story was the perfect origin myth?
take the idealism
take the credibility
take Musk’s money
take the best researchers
take the moral high ground
then once it works
close the doors
raise billions
sail of into the sunset

Just when I thought things couldn’t get any more Orwellian…

Every new car in the U.S. will be required by law to have tech that puts constant surveillance on the driver by 2027. AI in your car will determine if you're sober and fit to drive, automatically turning off the vehicle if it determines you're a danger on the road.

Over the past few years, I’ve woken up to random @CoinDesk articles shitting on our industry, and specifically NFTs.
That alone wouldn't bother me. Criticism is healthy. The press should hold this space accountable.
But while Coindesk takes $ 300k+ to write glowing “research” around companies in crypto, they also write ragebait headlines that shit on the same industry.
Pretty annoying to see.
It’s bad journalism to ask for $ 300k+ for an article, and if we don’t pay, you write negatively about us.
There are so many other news outlets actually trying to make it by covering bright stories in our industry.
There are so many other twitter spaces and communities that show up daily to move the space forward.
But what Coindesk is doing can’t be a sustainable model.
So a few weeks ago I opened up a short position on Coindesk’s parent company, Bullish.
This isn’t about money, it’s about principle.
The principle: you can’t hurt our community for your corporate gain.
Why can a business shit on an industry it participates in and still aim to profit within it?
Well, it can’t.
That was my bet anyway.
I’ve now closed the short up $5,387.46.
To be clear: the position is closed. Nothing I write here profits me from a trading standpoint. The trade is over. What's left is the principle.
I will use the money to take Bored Apes out to dinners, or Laker Games, or whatever the fuck I want - and every time I do, I will post an entire article about how I got the money (shorting Coindesk) and why I think Coindesk’s current approach is bad for our industry.
Congrats Coindesk, you’re now at war with a fucking psycho.
I will relentlessly bearpost this behavior until a representative reaches out to me and assures me that they’re going to knock this shit off.
