@JakeMcKibbinBB It’s more of a track record thing, which is something that Ortiz doesn’t really have. I’m quite shocked to find out that Rengifo had 92wRC+ against righties, but his performance against lefties totally tanked this year. But you’re right defensive miscue just cannot continue.

@Terry0481 Yeah, unfortunately that's also Joey Ortiz's batted ball profile. Low whiff, awful EV's and poor launch angles (albeit better of late) Combine that with the defense being sloppy, which the Brewers haven't got a ton of tolerance for historically, and Jett Williams surging

Luis Rengifo looked checked out tonight. It's the first time I've seen someone other than Contreras not busting it down the line on a ground ball, defensive errors (more mental than anything) are cropping up. More of this and idk if he'll be on the roster in a week's time

@smichaelis234 @Schill_26 A little late to this, but I've double-checked the raw data. At least for ACL Brewers, it does fill in pbp description afterwards for non-statcast games. DSL works the same way as well. May not have it on live gameday, but eventually they'll fill it in.

@Schill_26 Yeah, basically if you strike out swinging and it’s not at a statcast field, it’ll say you swung and missed 3 times on 3 pitches to strikeout even if that’s not true at all. It’s very annoying lol

I am worried about his contact rate but he’s been producing

@wiguy94 Could be just a spot start of sorts for sure. I hope he gets to just stick there because I really want to see how it looks with the MLB baseballs lol. Plus it seems like Henderson is going to stick in MLB so maybe they’re just going to have Hardin slide into his rotation spot?

This is great news. Very excited to see how Hardin’s stuff plays with the big-league baseballs. He had been giving up a surprising amount of loud contact in Biloxi, but everything else has looked really, really good so far.

@ByJackStern For what it's worth I'm not sure that's actually true. I saw someone post a study about that and if I recall the study didn't back up the claim that players hit for less power after returning from a broken hamate bone

Hamate injuries are notorious for sapping a hitter's power for a while, even after they return to play. Andrew Vaughn homering in his sixth plate appearance back off the IL certainly isn't a bad sign.

Yu-Lin Liao went deep for the Brewers today. Liao and right-hander Chang Tzu-Chun signed with Milwaukee last summer and are believed to be among the club's first two signees from Taiwan.
