The @AgWatchers podcast have had @TimNeale1 on loads of times to talk about using data to help reduce costs on farm. With urea up 65%+ in the past few weeks, its worthwhile having a look at their package to get more targetted applications of urea. datafarming.com

Annoyed that we can only get @Starlink mobile through Telstra and Optus. Surely this will change??? And Albo tried to take all the credit for the deal....

It's disturbing how few people understand what underwrites our prosperous nation, especially our political leaders. I was recently interviewed by a PhD student whose final question was would it matter if the SDL (how much water we can use) was lowered? I answered by talking about the rice industry activity in Deniliquin. SunRice was once the largest employer in Deniliquin, now it's an organisation involved in the care economy that didn't exist 50 years ago with huge growth over the past 20 years. The difference between the 2 enterprises is SunRice is an income earning activity & the other is a cost. You need income to pay for services. Water is a proxy for production, so less water probably means the rice mill closes & hundreds of people lose their job. Maybe they find new employment in the care economy but how do we pay for it? @tanya_plibersek while rewriting the #MurrayDarling Basin Plan legislation said, "if we export a bit less cotton & rice, I'm comfortable with that" Every time our political leaders undermine our productive industries, they make us poorer.

Australia gets two-thirds of its urea from the Middle East. Urea is the most important fertiliser and without it we wouldn't be able to feed people. Urea is made from natural gas and before net zero we made urea in Brisbane. Urea is also what makes AdBlue so our trucking fleet is stopped without it too. Dump net zero!

Amazes me how these pictures can get past the people who (should) know …… before they hit the wider world. Especially when it’s a crowd who REALLY SHOULD KNOW !! @theGRDC

These days, Australia imports all of its urea. Europe has introduced CBAM, which is effectively a carbon tariff. Australia is considering the same; this makes no sense as we have no domestic manufacturing currently. This will cause huge damage to the sector.
