Great to give a guest lecture on industrial policy and workplace democracy under different models of capitalism at @IIPP_UCL yesterday. As always, the students were the stars, with their penetrating questions and brilliant observations!

Thanks to everyone for their care & support. Great news & not so great news. He needs 3 ablation surgeries to attempt to correct the severe AF covid has imparted. His 🫀is currently operating at ~30 capacity. Each surgery will be about an hour, 3 mos apart. He could get back to 75-80% of heart function. That’s the great news. There is, of course, risk. But he is on the priority list because of severe impairment, so the first date should be springtime. Not so great news. NO infection (covid) control. Non negotiable. Hard to take this in. Ricky was much loved by so many in Greater Manchester. He was the kind of person who would always turn up for people, supporting so many causes. He made us smile and made us proud. We will find a way of honouring him properly. Rest in peace, Champ. 💪🏻
