That’s baseline methodology. Observational data can show patterns, but without addressing selection bias and comparability, trash.

Self-selection is common; your standard would kill most social science. Not all tests doesn't equal meaningless, that’s bad stats. More data plus replication = stronger evidence of a real effect.

You keep saying it like it’s all test scores, which is not supported. 2. Socials sciences are limited, but it’s widely agreed upon that you can still have random sampling and calculate control, which you aren’t doing.
