I always found it funny when people would claim Bruno is “statpadding.”
Because there’s legitimately no way to do it (with G+A) across a full season— football is just too low-scoring of a game.
To the extent someone can “statpad, it just means that they’re *that much better* than everyone else.
However, I think it’s now fair to say that Bruno is artificially increasing his assists, by passing when he could (and probably would) shoot.
And he gets away with it… because he is that much better than everyone else.

@johnaokane Their owners own far too much land in Manchester and London so there is political opposition to punishing them. One of the many reasons a state shouldn’t own a football club.

Manchester City’s almost 2 decade long financial doping and cheating the system has stolen titles away from honest teams, it’s stolen titles, trophies, cup finals, European places, vital revenue, it’s stolen fans who would have supported clubs like United, Arsenal or in Buvey’s case Bristol Rovers. Seeing media outlets openly celebrate these “achievements” from Manchester City just makes me feel like this sport is further and further away from being whole again. What Manchester City (and Chelsea) have done to the beautiful game should never be forgiven.

Imagine you're an NFL player and you have a $1 Million incentive in your contract for winning MVP.
You come in 2nd place in MVP voting and find out that the player you lost to plays for a team whose head coach has been hanging out with one of the 50 awards voters and pictured holding hands with him.
Dianna Russini publicly stated she voted for Drake Maye, so This exact situation almost played out this year, except Stafford won the award (barely) and he didn't happen to have this contract incentive.
The Awards voting process needs to be seriously looked at. This can't happen again.
PS - NFL coach's contract details aren't public, but theoretically it's possible for a coach to have an incentive for winning COTY. Dianna Russini has a COTY vote.
