APC National Chairman Visits Victims of Angwan Rukuba Attack at Jos University Teaching Hospital
Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Saturday paid a solemn visit to victims of the recent Angwan Rukuba attack who are receiving treatment at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).
Accompanied by his wife, Dr. Martina Yilwatda, the APC chief expressed deep compassion and solidarity with the injured, sharing in their pain while reaffirming the nation’s collective duty to protect every Nigerian life.
Describing the attack as “painful, barbaric, and unacceptable,” Prof. Yilwatda said it represented a direct assault on shared humanity that must never be allowed to become “another normal story.”
He assured the victims and their families of the Federal Government’s firm resolve, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to safeguard lives and bring an end to the senseless killings.
The APC National Chairman also commiserated with families who lost loved ones in the incident and offered prayers for strength and comfort during this difficult period.
Prof. Yilwatda commended the management and staff of JUTH for their swift and professional response in saving lives.
In a statement, he called on leaders, communities, and citizens to act with urgency, unity, and purpose, declaring: “This tragedy must awaken all of us, Plateau must not bleed again.”

Tinubu in Jos Confirms ‘Don't Vote for Me’ Prediction on Power Supply
During the 2023 campaign, President Tinubu made a clear electoral promise: “If I don’t give you constant electricity in four years, don’t vote for me for a second term.”
When he took office in 2023, Nigeria had a power supply of over 4,000 megawatts and lower tariffs. Today, the electricity power supply is less than 4,000 megawatts on the average, and Nigerians are paying higher tariffs. Nigeria currently has the lowest per capita electricity consumption in the world, with a rate below 30% of the African average. Africa’s average is 617kwh, Nigeria’s is 144 kWh. This means that Nigerians consume least electricity than other Africans.
In a glaring display of disregard for promises and a lack of trust, President Tinubu, during a brief airport stopover to visit grieving families of the Jos attack on Thursday, April 2, 2026, stated that one of the reasons for his 10-minute stay was that the airport had no electricity. “You have no light here I fly out in ten minutes” At a time when Nigerians are enduring days without power, our leaders cannot even stay a few minutes without it.
Now is the time to stop incompetent leaders—those lacking the capacity and compassion—who prioritise their own comfort over the well-being of the people and make empty promises.

Yesterday defenders of democracy, today's destroyers, What a shame.
What an irony of history, that the acclaimed defenders of democracy and human rights who claimed to have fought for democracy during the era of General Sani Abacha now find themselves worse than the man they opposed.
Today, General Sani Abacha, once presumed face of oppression, will be remembered as seemingly more democratic and more respectful of human rights than the so-called champions of activism from the NADECO days. Power indeed reveals character.

Bola Tinubu could not even leave the airport to go & condole with the bereaved people of Jos.
But he abandoned everything, including Aso Rock. He went straight to the hospital to see Anthony Joshua. He didn’t stop there.
In fact, he posted almost immediately after the unfortunate incident. That was when I knew the man is busy doing nothing. He sees & he knows everything going on. He simply doesn’t care.
He has this special type of hatred for my people. Besides, we never voted for him.

I have postponed my trip to Iperu, Ogun State. My first duty at this moment is to stand with the people of Plateau.
I will be in Jos to commiserate with families who have lost loved ones and to reaffirm that those who seek to spread fear will not prevail. We will continue to strengthen our security response and ensure that justice is done.
From Plateau, I will proceed to Lagos to observe Good Friday, and then continue with scheduled engagements in Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa focused on infrastructure, trade, and economic growth.
In moments of grief, we must stand together. In moments of progress, we must keep building.
The work continues. Nigeria First.
