I think the thing about the Dawntrail discourse is that the average FFXIV player found it just OK, without having a strong opinion for or against it.
In the absence of general discussion, the extream opinions ("Dawntrail is my baby" and "Dawntrail ate my baby") took over, and instead of people talking about the what the expansion did good/poorly it mostly devolved into a shouting match of "Dawntrail bad!" and "Dawntrail good!"

@WolQoTD However, Calyx would've made the mistake of sparking Pentex's Inner Beast back to life with the attempt on his life. With his resignation into being the saviour of the world, he can't help but consider Calyx more of a nuisance than a true threat. He'll enjoy making him scream.

@WolQoTD His Inner Beast would've been quenched between his final battle against Zenos and 7.2, where he'd look back on his life and the world with clearer eyes. This is when he would experience the DRK questline, remembering there is more to his darker side than just an animalistic fury.

@Belcross_ Feel free to correct me as I haven't gone into BLU myself but I've been told that despite having such a lower level cap, the actions you can learn as BLU can make it busted as hell, so you can still do Dawntrail-level content despite being capped to Lv.80.

@HEITAIs Late in MGS4 Raiden introduced himself as Lightning.
I think Kojima wanted to dub him Lightning Snake at some point. Either with Big Boss meeting him at the cemetery in the ending, or original Rising.
After that, Venom made more sense.

@NorahSandoleh The French dialogue has him say something along the lines of "Oooh, who's this beautiful demon?" which appears to reference his dialogue when he fights himself in one of the Dissidia games. This may be the real Kefka encountering his recreated counterpart.
