Insanity. We have reached insanity levels. There’s zero reason Wemby should be up there.

@BiasedHouston Have no issues with anyone who believes SGA is the MVP I do have an issue with fans from a certain fan base who act as if no other player has a legitimate case for being named MVP

Shai is the overwhelming betting favorite for MVP. His team is the best team in the NBA. He’s having a historically great scoring season. The entire national media watched him walk down who at the time was the runner up for MVP. Don’t really care about an MVP ladder.

Shai’s been at 1 the whole year so if Wemby gets it being 1 for a week and a half I see the agenda

@DanielTJMcA @HPbasketball What’s supports this narrative that Wemby wasn’t as dominant early in the season? Also take a moment and review OKC schedule for Oct/Nov

@HPbasketball Biased Spurs fan - I think Shai deserves it. He was ahead in the first few months, and had been great all season. I think Vic has been the best player in the league since Feb, and he might be #1 now, but October to Jan matters for MVP.

I had kind of put MVP away, and if you're an OKC fan it is fair to be like "how could one month change things" But also, my argument for Shai was that he wins the most and by the most, and Vic has the better net rating. So that pushes us back to box score. Shai's offensive box score is better than Victor's, Victor's defensive box score dwards every human alive. Shai leads in EPM, but I've always said EPM usually REFLECTS voter sentiment, it doesn't guide it. Jokic is better on offense, Victor on defense, but Shai's offense-defense cumulative impact is *arguably* greater.

@HPbasketball Victor should be penalized for providing a games worth of winning production in fewer minutes? Being efficient is a negative?

I don't disagree. It matters. It's just interpretable HOW MUCH it matters. Oddly, many people from San Antonio don't feel it's important. Weird.
justin@ly_yng

@HPbasketball Shai and Jokic have both played 300 more minutes than Wemby. I know it's close, but actually being on the court is an important factor.

The fact that Wemby is on here At 1 4 and 7 is insane and it Tells you all you need to know. 1. He was Robbed of DPOY in his Rookie season. 2. He's 7th on this list only playing half a season due to Deep Vein Thrombosis 3. This season is his best year yet , and it Shows. And if you need any more proof of Victor Wembanyama and his Offensive presence (which most believe is what is holding him back from MVP) here is more proof. There is absolutely 0 reason why Victor Wembanyama shouldn't overtake Derrick Rose for the youngest MVP in NBA HISTORY. Stop hating on how Wemby answered a question, and actually study and see why Wemby is the True MVP this season.

@EricSal_7 Willie Anderson brought athleticism but couldn’t hit a shot to save his life Vernon Maxwell too but that’s whole nother story Spurs really struggled with roster construction early in David’s career

If you were a Spurs fan in the late 80s/early 90s through early 2000s, you know how thirsty we were for guards or 6’4”- 6’7” players who could dunk in game in the half court. Or have versatility & athleticism instead of being specialty one way players. Outside of David/Sean in the 90s, there was very little versatility & athleticism. Then in the early 2000s, we had one year of Derrick Anderson, which was a breath of fresh air. What we are seeing now is wild. Dunk after dunk from everyone. Spurs have the versatile/athletic goods at all spots in each lineup.

@EricSal_7 I tend not to be too critical of Silver imposing the 65 game rule wouldn’t of happened if teams weren’t abusing load mgt it was an effort to stop disappointing fans who spent money to take their families to one game only to have the stars sit out tweak the rule but right intent

It’s jarring how many people I know who couldn’t care less about the NBA right now. Was at a brewery last weekend watching the NCAA and it was like pulling teeth trying to get anyone to talk about the league. The NBA has a serious cultural problem with the American sports fan.
