The perception on Amen Thompson on this app is very funny. A player who has an inconsistent handle and a nonexistent jumpshot has routinely been one of the most impactful two-way players in the league while improving every year of his career.

The funniest thing about Amen’s development is he scaled up significantly and every single metrics said he’s different. I suppose we might be watching basketball with the wrong eye and logic. Wins and losses skews perception and logic way too much on here.

The Rockets won 52 games while missing two of their five best players and with the worst bench in basketball. Marcus Smart who is anywhere from our 6th to 8th man this upcoming season would’ve been a top-5 Rocket last season. The corpse of Steven Adams and Fred VanVleet are LEAPS and bounds better than the bench units we had last season. And I think the young core — specifically Amen Thompson — takes a leap this season. I would still make changes to the roster to solidify contender status if it was up to me, but people acting like we’re somehow regressing/won’t be a strong regular season team is crazy to me.

@BiasedHouston He's not that good man. Comparing him to other bad gms doesn't make him good. Not saying he's horrible but he's not doing anything else this offseason I can almost guarantee it. He thinks Fred is the savior and there's a lot of evidence to support that. Again I hope I'm wrong

@Drewsburner_ I don’t think it’s blind. When I rank all the things he’s done in his time in Houston and then compare it to the 29 other GMs, Stone fares pretty well. Whenever national media guys or team officials speak on our front office, they always speak highly. Only Rockets fans hate him.

@BiasedHouston Problem with that though Will is it’s a 36 million dollar mistake if we find out we can’t win with Sengun, it would tank his trade value. I think we could win with Sengun at 16 million a year as a 6th man, let him be the microwave scorer off the bench that can run a 2nd unit
