@Home_doko @raorapanthera @Seongdam504 Found a tweet by Dyarikku, from Valentine's Day 2023, where she called a pizza with sausage and fries an Italian classic.

@raorapanthera @Seongdam504 Your entire family’s Italian citizenship phased out of existence by just being near that.

@EmilyKinsley123 As a related note, I'm happy I've finally managed to convince my mom that having two IT degrees and being able to troubleshoot her windows laptop issues doesn't mean I can do the same with her android phone issues.

@Scyllaquinn You can move the earnings out of Twitch to your bank account. You need to be an affiliate or a partner to do that. Those who are not can only use the funds within Twitch for stuff like bits or subs.
English

@TwitchSupport @eepykateykat Then what the FUCK was the point of us who have the affiliate status even grinding to get the fucking status??? I spent SEVEN fucking months working my ass off to gett affilated and now going on 4 years later youre saying its no longer needed?

@WeisseningBlitz @TwitchSupport Does that act cover independent contractors as well as employees? Because every content creator, on any platform, is an independent contractror, not an employee.
English

@TwitchSupport Withholding funds from streamers until they meet some arbitrary criteria and only able to use it on "corporate sanctioned activities" feels like its toeing the line with Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938.
English

@SporeRose @TwitchSupport What they still give to affiliates and partners, that those without don't get, is the ability to move that money out of Twitch. They can only use the new "spendable balance".
English

@TwitchSupport Does this mean Affiliates will start getting more features?
Like the full rollout of the sponsorships system?

Twitch has updated the Bits Acceptable Use policy for the first time since 2018.
Key changes:
- Bits can now ONLY be used for things on Twitch. (An explicit ban on using Bits for anything off-platform or of monetary value, ie. Movie Night, Merch, etc.)
- Much stricter enforcement, including a new "forfeiture clause" which essentially says they can take your Bits (no compensation) for any violation.
- Officially kills the "Ads for Bits" product (leftover language; that product has been dead for years).

@ActualChance @FlashForcePlays @Twitch There's a reason they have tags. Those can be used for stuff like Archipelago while being in the category for the game being played. Archipelago itself isn't a game, after all.
English

@ZnakerFIN @FlashForcePlays I can see that post people are using tags for Archipelago, but @Twitch should truly make that its own category. Either that, or the system could still flag it and people could check if they are truly doing a randomizer.
English

@ActualChance @FlashForcePlays If people would need to be in the same category, it would cripple some ways people play games together. Like multi-world randomizers such as Archipelago where people play different games that are linked together through the randomizer system.
English

@FlashForcePlays I need it explained how people can multi stream and not at least have the same category.
There should be a flag for review system if they are doing different things.

@StevieBlunder__ I have a friend who got perma banned at one point. The reason seemed to be because her name was a compound word in a local language that does not translate well into English.
Then, without any notice, she got her account back, renamed, after almost a year of being banned.

200K Impressions ok time for some common arguments and questions
Q: Why are the rules on Vtubers are not applied to female IRL streamers? Or Male streamers?
A: They are. These just don't garner as much attention from us (in the VTuber sphere) since we're not actively in their sphere outside of when the inciting incident.
Q: Why was X banned longer for Y reason compared to A who was banned for B reason?
A: Because of a mixture of harm analysis, severity of the offense, and previous behavior. If X does thing multiple times, the ban will be longer. If a streamer has a bad attire for a single stream, you can expect that banning for 1 day means tomorrow stream will not contain that attire.
Q: I saw X streamer doing something with their boobs / ass out! Why aren't they banned?
A: They are either following policy and we are seeing only what we want to see, or they are breaking it and should be reported and penalized accordingly.
Q: Why is stream and penalty moderation so wishy-washy?
A: Twitch does not have a VTuber Boobie Monitor AI powered by Grok and Claude nor people chained in a basement to monitor every stream ever, it is just fundamentally too expensive and an inefficient, waste of resources.
Twitch relies on people reporting streams to figure out when someone has a VOD / Stream that has to be removed. Not all reports work of course, but Twitch will NOT take action unless someone reports it.
Realistically, with how often Fefe runs into it, it's likely that she has hate watchers that instantly report spam her stream and she gets caught on policy violations, such as now.
Q: This policy sucks and is stupid and double standard as hell! Why don't they change it?
A: Money, viewership, metrics, and they don't care since all these issues die after 1-2 days and people forget about it and move onto the next thing because the internet is a turbulent river of ever changing drama.
At the end of the day, the policy and moderation is the way it is because it works. If it didn't work, Twitch wouldn't receive advertisers because it would be a shitty place to do so (How many big name advertisers do you see buy ad space on current Twitter / KICK for example?). It sucks when you run into it and I love Fefe to death, but to say she didn't blunder here would be incorrect.
English

hi guys, (corporate-brained) stevie here.
As someone who has a (very minor) hand in developing and (extreme) knowledge of Twitch policy, something that comes up often in discussions is how important to understand that skirting the invisible line that is Twitch TOS is something that will almost always have you end up stepping on a land mine.
These lines are not 100% defined for a reason and its so that creators do not try and approach them. However, most of these lines were very clearly defined and still stepped on, which prompted the ban.
Does it suck that there aren't 100% clear cut examples with whats acceptable and not with visual aids to help? Yes and I wish in-depth glossaries existed for things as nuanced as this.
Does it suck that other streamers have gotten away with violations? Yes and they should be reported and penalized accordingly.
Does it suck that some degree of internal bias exist for "large" vs "small/medium sized" creators? Yes and they should remove those staffers and impart those with as little bias or vested interest as possible.
Does it suck that I can't goon to this live for the next 24 hours? Yes and I will be beating my shit raw when the next stream pops up.
But ultimately, there were very clear lines that were crossed and whatever due diligence was done, additional pass overs and willingness to compromise with a system that will not compromise with you should be taken into account, not just for you but for anyone looking to wrangle with TOS policy.

English

@DeadsetAnime @StevieBlunder__ Context matters. Like, as an example, in the category "Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches" people can wear a lot more revealing outfits. Also, official events, like sports, often most likely would have separates contracts to be possible for official broadcasting on Twitch.
English

@StevieBlunder__ Wow. I guess Twitch doesn't allow women's volley ball, gymnastics, diving, surfing, mma, modeling, track and field, lots of video game and popular movie characters... or am I wrong because I don't use Twitch and this TOS sounds like a total nightmare.
English

@TempleTurkey An example of how irl streaming is done right. Respectfully. Legally.
