That's not greed. That is a buisness model that the public accepted and voted on with their wallet. It wasn't always good, it sucked for a long time. They spent time and money on it.
PC gamers aren't into "exclusives".

I hate AI in creative fields as much as the next guy, but putting automation tools like Voice2Face in the same box as fully generative AI 'slop' generators is nuts.
These are actual tools cutting unnecessary work and saving animators time, not entirely replacing them like others
