The filing deadline has passed in PA and no Republican will be running against Fitzpatrick. He's about 75% Democrat, and will be losing in November to someone who is 100% nutbucket Democrat. It's not much of a difference but the GOP can't afford any losses, even ones like this stooge.

NEW -- N.Y. Democratic Rep. TOM SUOZZI and Pa. GOP Rep. BRIAN FITZPATRICK have a new bill out in the likely scenario Senate rejects the House's 60-day CR.
Bill would fund all of DHS and would:
-mandate body cameras
- require ID for DHS personnel
- ban masks
- increase penalties for doxxing agents
- mandate "independent investigations" for DHS shootings
- standardize training
- limit detention of US citizens
- institute warrant requirements for criminal arrests
- prioritize detention of immigrants who "pose a threat to public safety."

The way I see it, the MI-SEN primary is a simple choice:
Stevens is running to Slotkin’s right, El-Sayed is an untested leftist in a state Dems got walloped in ’24, and McMorrow is a pragmatic progressive who flipped an R+16.3 seat.

In Fairfax County, I undertook a non-scientific poll via Nextdoor, a social network that caters to more liberal views, and given the county's blue leaning, one might expect the results to favor Democrats in terms of redistricting; nonetheless, it still shows them losing.

Two other things I'd add to the analysis of this Talarico poll: 1. TX is not a state where polls tend to overestimate Dems. Beto didn't lead the polls in any of his races, IIRC. 2. That said, he's still nowhere near 50%. He needs to win a lot of these "reluctant Republicans."
