Per a source familiar, Schatz told Moreno on the floor it was a “fucking cheap shot,” and asked “you’re not serene?” Moreno said “No, I’m pissed off.”

Dems tried to do another standalone TSA funding bill, which Moreno objected to. During his remarks, Moreno mentioned Schatz’s “serene” quote that has become fodder for the GOP to pound Dems with as the DHS shutdown continues.

@MattWhitlock She needs help, and making her the Bachelorette (and airing it) will likely only worsen her mental health—and, in turn, affect her children. As someone who left an abusive marriage, this is all very disturbing.

This is physical abuse, and I hope authorities are investigating it. ABC should only air her season if they also address this incident, using it as an opportunity to discuss the dangers and prevalence of domestic violence. It’s especially important to acknowledge that abuse can go both ways, and that men can be victims too.
