This is THE key teaching of The Graph. Libs don’t have "excessive empathy" or "misplaced empathy" or even "pathological empathy" as you sometimes hear, they are filled with hate. They are filled with HATE, and it is this hate which causes them to disingenuously PERFORM empathy in their weird, over-the-top way. They do this: 1. To maintain their self-image as "a good person" (phrase they repeat very often) 2. Because self-righteousness provides addictive endorphin hits 3. To weaponize their self-righteousness against their (perceived) enemies How do we know this is true? • They constantly fail Turing Tests (have no idea how conservatives, minorities, etc. actually think) because they don’t have actual empathy, they’re just projecting • They’re filled with anger and bitterness which comes out very easily (not kindness and butterflies as they constantly shout) • The empathy immediately stops when it requires they make any actual effort or contribution or sacrifice in real life (libs have the lowest rates of volunteering, giving to charity) • Very high rates of conflict with family, friends (strange for an empathetic kind person, makes sense if they’re actually just an asshole) • They constantly advocate for policies that hurt people they’re ostensibly meant to help & don’t change their mind when the evidence is in (Parable of the Motorcycle Helmet) Whatever is closest to the center they hate most, therefore they hate 1. Themselves, most of all 2. Anyone like them (race, or class, or whatever) 3. Anyone who reminds them of their inadequacy (people who are successful or rich or handsome or wholesome or just happy)

Historical illiteracy and the crippling self-doubt of the contemporary West mean we no longer understand just how vast the gulf between the West and "the rest" really is and was. At best, it is considered impolite to point it out, racist at worst. But the Western drive to truthfulness, what Nietzsche calls "Redlichkeit," compels me to speak honestly. China and India never discovered nature. Therefore, before they were subdued by the West, they knew neither science nor philosophy. If these phenomena ever existed in these places, they were stamped out completely and eliminated from historical memory. The problem is not simply intellectual but spiritual. There is a reason that every technological and scientific innovation of any note was invented by Europeans. Even now, I have never met a Chinese or Indian who can reason TO first principles. They can reason FROM axioms but they never go the other way. The spiritual drive to examine premises, to question authority in a serious, sustained, and logical way does not exist among them. For one, I have never met an Indian or Chinese who has anything meaningful to say in response to the question "what is justice?" or "what is friendship?" At best you might get ChatGPT-tier responses, but never real engagement. Conformity, motivated reasoning, and mysticism are the defining features of Eastern "thought" insofar as it exists at all. The only (partial) exceptions have emerged only AFTER contact with the West. It is for this reason that India and China will never be tech "powerhouses" in their own right. If they conquer the world it will not be through scientific achievement but by assimilating the world to their values and spiritual orientation. A global Calcutta or Guangzhou is the real danger, not an Indian or Chinese "Silicon Valley." India and China might succeed in turning America into a simulacrum of their own worst slums and resource-extraction nodes, but they will never beat the West at its own game. They don't want to! Real science depends on spiritual freedom, on a "radical individualism," that these places have never produced and would view as a profound danger should it ever emerge. To be a scientist, you must be willing to accept the Truth no matter what it is and no matter who disagrees. It means believing you are right even when EVERYONE else says you are wrong. This spiritual tendency simply does not exist in the East in any meaningful way.
