These huge towers in the town of San Gimignano present an imposing sight over the Tuscan countryside! They are a reminder of a very violent time when warring families inside the town built such towers. There used to be many more of such towers in this town, over 70 of them. 🧵

The castles of Walmer, Deal and Sandown were constructed between 1539 and 1540 under the rule of Henry VIII to protect the south coast of England from an invasion. A short thread. 🧵

Urs Graf (c. 1485 - c. 1528) was a Swiss mercenary who served in the Italian Wars. He lived a violent and troubled life. But he was also a very talented artist. His art depicts what he saw and experienced. It will show you a different, darker side of Renaissance! 🧵

The point of life is to live life If you are so smart why aren’t you satisfied and fulfilled? You live by letting go of your need for meaning. Depth. Complexity. Frameworks. All of it. There’s a reason most philosophers end up saying some variation of “the point of life is to stop thinking about the point of life and just live” That’s because they drove themselves insane trying to figure it out. Literally nearly all major philosophical and religious framework converge at this point of truth. Why is that? It’s because they realize it’s futile and it will not lead to a good life or make the world a better place. In fact it actually multiplies suffering. It makes the world a worse place because you are more confused, emotionally unstable, unhappy and in an unfulfilled state. The point of life is literally just to live it however you want. As a good person A bad person Funny Stupid Smart Hot Fat Rich Poor Building companies Making music Creating patents Selling apps Dating hot girls/guys Starting a family Divorcing Finding love again Etc It really doesn’t matter what you want to do, unless it makes the world a bad place and spreads suffering. But even then if that’s what you want to do you should do it. I will do my best to diminish your power if that’s the case. Expect consequences. But do it anyways. I am not making a moral argument here for why you should or should not do something. I don’t need to know why something is bad to know it’s bad. It just is. So don’t be a bad person and then do whatever you want. The point is to do it and be in full acceptance of what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and then giving yourself permission to enjoy it. It’s that simple. To own your desires fully. Whatever they are. And be willing to do anything it takes to fulfill them for as long as you desire to. Everything else is stuff we add on top to rationalize having feelings and taking action. And most of the time it’s just to feel like you have permission to feel a certain way. Just give yourself permission to feel whatever you’re feeling and watch how much better your life gets

Most outliers know that after a certain point, no one is ever truly going to understand them, and yet the desire to be understood remains perpetual. You want to have a conversation with someone near you, perhaps with your parents, but they cannot meet you there; they do not have the psychological or metaphysical capacity to contain your existence even as an idea, so it becomes constant projection. You can see through them, and through all of it. After a point, both parties realise there is a continuous misalignment. The language they speak is fundamentally different from yours, and the divergence exists more at the level of soul than speech. It is a kind of perpetual loneliness, even when you are surrounded by so many people. Your interiority withers for the sake of one real connection, even if it arrives only through the internet. It is painful to exist this way, to be different but don't worry, you will be fine.

The 50-Year-Old Cancer Miracle Hiding in Plain Sight Back in 1968, the FDA discovered something incredible: a common dye combined with DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) could destroy cancer cells without harming healthy ones. Instead of fast-tracking this breakthrough, they chose to bury the evidence. But now, as @MidwesternDoc shows, doctors have proven this combination works—safely treating otherwise “incurable” cancers. 🧵

1983 bombing of US Marine barracks in Beirut called repeatedly “the largest non-nuclear explosion ever" (or since WWII). This propaganda served many purposes, incl possibly providing cover for what was actually an Israeli “clean” micro-nuke that Joe Vialls ID'ed in 2002 Thread 1/

This map of Jerusalem shows a black rectangle marking the Temple Mount, the site of the Dome of the Rock. The red dots indicate the approximate locations of Iranian missile impacts in Israel’s capital over the past two weeks. Could the IRGC actually be trying to hit Al Aqsa in some deranged Hail Mary attempt to frame Israel for damaging it?

People like to use men's porn history as evidence of "revealed preferences" but nobody ever does this for straight women because they know immediately it would disprove the entire concept, since straight woman are watching lesbian porn and reading about minotaur rapists.

Here is the compilation of all my posts regarding the basics of crude, condensates and refined products to help you make sense of how bad the situation is for each product. 1) Crude - The tussle for crude leading to high crude premiums and the mismatch of crude qualities to replace the medium sour crude that Asia sorely needs 2) Condensates - The impact of Qatar LNG outage to the oil and petchem world 3) Naphtha + LPG - The basic building blocks of plastics and the bare necessities of life 4) Mogas - the most politically charged barrel but the easiest to solve in the current crisis 5) Jet fuel - The most stressed barrel because you can only get jet fuel from refineries 6) Diesel - The workhorse of the barrel. You need this fuel in industry, power gen, mining, fishing. 7) Fuel oil - The forgotten, unloved barrel but is now priced higher than crude. This is used predominantly as bunker fuel in many of our ships, so again - no crude for refineries = no bunker fuel produced Sharing is caring. Repost if you care. #oott

Masjid Al-Aqsa is CLOSED on Eid for the FIRST time since 1967 by Israeli colonizers One of Islam’s holiest sites… Shut on one of its most sacred days. Since the war on Iran began, Israel sealed Al-Aqsa for 19+ days. Israel is planning a false flag strike on Al-Aqsa to blame Iran, destroy the mosque, and build their Third Temple. Jewish rabbis have already said it out loud. A thread 🧵
