@techsoz Hi! Your satisfaction with our Hue products is top priority and we are willing to get this sorted out. Please DM us

@BeeNetwork if we buy a family day pass for the Metro, can just my wife and I go into Manchester on the way there, and come back with our 2 kids? Or do we have to travel with our children both ways? What should we do?
English

@KonstantinKisin What if you run your own business? Yes, work hard. But you can also work intelligently and learn to delegate. That's the beauty in working for yourself. Freedom.

@unreceived @Miss_Snuffy Another potential advantage in moving over to a partial subscription model is Twitter being overly reliant on advertising. With a lot of advertisers pulling the plug, albeit temporarily, I think that's wise. And it means we, the consumers, are treated less as the product.
English

@baritoneuk @Miss_Snuffy All non-subscribers will also be treated like bots and ‘cut out’ as you put it. A huge advance for freedom and the do-called public town square /s
English

@zwitterio @Miss_Snuffy Yes, I think that's the case. I'm not verified, but with the current system I wouldn't use the filter because most people I follow aren't verified. But with the new system, more people would be verified and it would be more useful - to filter out the bots.

@Adrian_Hilton It feels like self sabotage. This could have been so easily avoided.

It is truly astonishing how this Government has squandered a landslide majority of 80 seats; the greatest since 1987. I've never known anything like it. Lady Thatcher may have been appalled, but Mrs Thatcher would have absolutely incredulous, not to say incandescent.
Nile Gardiner@NileGardiner
We are witnessing in the Conservative Party a Shakespearean tragedy, the result of a loss of nerve in No. 10, coupled with a nefarious attempt by Tory wets to carry out a coup. A Govt with a 70+ majority is collapsing, emboldening the Left. Lady Thatcher would have been appalled.
English

@Miss_Snuffy @5pm Cool. Would love to hear you speak if you are up here. By the way, you should check out the Laurus Trust schools. We are very impressed with them. Our kids' school's motto is "unashamedly academic".

TOMORROW!
@5pm Oxford.
See you there! sheldonian.ox.ac.uk/event/roger-sc…

@Adrian_Hilton Is there another party you would join if you were to resign from the Conservative party?
English

Just back from church.
There was no revelation.
But if this Times editorial is what now happens, I'll be resigning my Conservative Party membership after 34 years, which I've clung to through thick and thin (and that's been quite a lot of thin caused predominantly by the thick).

@the_veg_patch @Emma_A_Webb @calvinrobinson We definitely need something to change. I'm just not convinced it's the voting system that needs to change.
English

@the_veg_patch @Emma_A_Webb @calvinrobinson Very true. The past 15 years or so has shown a real lack of a strong party. But I fear it would be even worse if we had PR. We'd have more coalitions which aren't necessarily bad, but the manifestos get chucked out of the window and compromises made behind closed doors.
English

@no2_netzero @Emma_A_Webb @calvinrobinson Not that great of course. But my concern is that it would be far worse if we had PR. As I said before we'd get endless coalitions and the decisions would all be made behind closed doors which I believe is bad for democracy. I could be wrong though.
English

@Emma_A_Webb @calvinrobinson Yes, the problem with PR is we'd get endless coalitions and arguably the end of democracy with manifestos being torn up & policies made between potential coalition parties behind closed curtains. At least w. FPTP we can potentially get strong parties with the mandate to do stuff!
English

@prwhittle I agree. The problem is that he's damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't.
English

@glenscrivener thanks so much for "The Air We Breathe" one of the best books I've read in a long time and I believe one of the most important books people should read. I kept on highlighting nuggets and even made some notes.

English

@glenscrivener If I didn't live in the North where there be dragons, I'd be there!
English

@loudavis Great! You've been in Edinburgh for a while I think, haven't you? What's your PhD in?
English

@baritoneuk I’m good thanks, we live in Edinburgh now so less likely to bump into you - and I’m an artist and PhD student.
