The BBC has been speaking to the creators of Iran's viral Lego-style AI slopaganda. Explosive Media admitted for the first time that the Iranian government is a direct "customer" of theirs. Read our piece here... With: @Matt_A_Shea bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@AndrewPessin If the American colonists lost the war to the British but kept fighting would you chide them for refusing to disarm?

@Kydwykkyd101 @PeachesMel Polling is pretty accurate +/- 1.5% if it’s constructed correctly (no leading/bias questions) and a representative sample size those things aren’t not difficult, but have been refined over the years. The rise of polling companies with explicit bias is concerning

@Lamingtons89 @AnalyticaCamil1 It’s probably more like have a ‘mostly neutral’ third party tour the facilities explicitly so they can report to others. consider it like a porcupine extending its quills, its warning you to not touch. some people don’t get the hint to not touch

Look, I know Americans are notably absent minded when it comes to paying attention to the wars it gets in — but there’s a reason why ‘we’ sued for a ceasefire, and not the other way around. Our stockpile of interceptors ‘globally’ is floating just above ‘E’. Over the course of this ceasefire we’ve churned out approximately ‘2’ new THAAD interceptors — the ones DoD needs to shoot down Iran’s ballistic missiles. Not 2 hundred, not 2 dozen — ‘2’. In the meantime, we’ve given the IRGC a solid week to uncork their mountain bases (on average, they need about 12 hours to do that), and to replenish their frontline launcher units. The Pakistani generals Iran showed around ‘some’ of their mountain bases have estimated that Iran at least ‘had’ north of 15,000 SRBM+ range missiles, and some 45,000 Shaheds. They’ve fired about a tenth of that, and DoD believes it’s destroyed another tenth. Even if the Iranians are lying their asses off, and their initial stockpile was only a third of that, the global economy will be immiserated if we restart this war.

@KimGhattas PM Salam should not back down. Strength only recognizes strength, and by not flying to Washington as initially planned he gives Iran a win. Unforced error. Could’ve denounced Israel, talked about Lebanese fabric and still gone.

Key Iranian regime figure openly threatens Lebanon's prime minister with violence as the small country gets ready for direct cease-fire talks with Israel in DC. Lebanon hasn't had seat at table of regional negotiations since 1980s when Assad regime dominated Lebanon and spoke for Beirut.

@dirtyhat @McFaul The Iranians signed but didn’t ratify the ‘82 UN resolution, but it doesn’t even matter - even on their own terms (‘58 Geneva Convention) they are violating the “innocent passage” standard they’ve lobbied for by attempting to extort transit fee’s.

Iranian dictators couldn't attack Israel and the US effectively, so they attacked and punished other countries to increase their leverage as a way to end the war. Aren't we now doing the same thing by closing Hormuz? Or am I not understanding something about the strategy? It's not only Iran that will be impacted by our blockade.

If you keep telling Tehran it is winning while it is plainly losing, it will stick to maximalist terms, the war will resume, and the price will be more military losses and deeper economic devastation. Hormuz will eventually be solved—and the regime’s last leverage goes with it.

@johnnyyrebb @McFaul The straight counts as a ‘local passage’ or some such and doesn’t fall under freedom of navigation of the seas, which the Iranians haven’t signed anyway China is going to let this play out, bleeding out the americans

@McFaul The point is that if Iran won’t abide by international maritime laws, they don’t get access to international trade. Literally no one, including and especially the export heavy Chinese, want a new precedent set that freedom of navigation on the world’s oceans has ended.

All it is going to take is for one Chinese flagged ship to pass through with Iranian permission. No American navy leadership, in their right mind, is going to fire on a Chinese flagged civilian vessel, during an illegal blockade. That is such a blatantly illegal order that it will be very easy for military brass to deny it. And I’m fairly certain that’s something even Trump wouldn’t order. He is desperate for off ramps that make him look strong. But he is scared.

I am genuinely struggling to understand this logic. If the rest of the world is willing to pay a small toll to Iran to keep oil flowing and stabilise markets, then why does the U.S. feel the need to block all shipping, especially when it is not dependent on that oil?
