We want the Aegean Sea to be shared by both Greeks and Turks. You, on the other hand, seem to want us not to even set foot in the sea. Sorry, but if you keep resisting our reasonable approach in such an absurd way, you may even lose Thessaloniki. And at that point, we would also take back the Twelve Islands that were handed to you without any effort on your part. We would make Cyprus entirely a Turkish island as well. History already shows what happened when you sought refuge with Britain and entered Anatolia. Looking for new masters instead of reaching an agreement with Turkey will not benefit you. If you fail to understand this reality, this time you may lose even what you currently have

If you ask Turkey what “peace” in the Aegean looks like, the answer is stark: it begins with Greece making concessions. In practice, the Turkish vision of “peace” entails Greek islands left undefended opposite a heavily militarised Turkish coastline and stripped of full territorial waters, so that Turkish warships and jets can operate freely around in what is, by geography and international law, a Greek island sea. It means Greece accepting a permanently occupied Cyprus and giving up exclusive rights in its own seas. In short, for Turkey, “peace” would mean Greece becoming smaller, weaker, and quieter-while Turkey steadily expands its influence. At its core, this is not a technical dispute over legal interpretation - it is Turkish irredentism. ❌Turkey simply refuses to recognise where its borders end and Greece’s begin. This dynamic reveals the true nature of the relationship: not that of a difficult neighbour, but of a revisionist aggressor that still harbours imperial ambitions over territory and waters that do not belong to it. These borders are not ambiguous, nor are they recent. They were settled in the aftermath of the Treaty of Lausanne, which definitively established the modern boundaries between Greece and Turkey. Under that settlement, Turkey secured full sovereignty over Anatolia, while Greece retained its islands in the Aegean. Until Turkey demonstrably abandons these claims, respects the sovereignty and integrity of Greek territory, it will always be seen as a security threat that has to be contained. 🔵Greece harbours no desire for war or confrontation. Its position is clear, lawful, and purely defensive: it seeks only to uphold its sovereignty within borders and rights already recognised under international law -nothing more, nothing less. 🔴But that is not enough. Deterrence cannot remain passive or declaratory. It must be decisive and credible. Greek foreign policy has to send an unambiguous message: any violation of its sovereignty will not just be blocked-it will be met with consequences that impose real, strategic loss. Those who choose escalation must understand that they risk not only failure, but the loss of what they already hold. This is the only language bullies understand.

Δημοσιεύει μια νεαρή γιατρός την απόγνωσή της λόγω εξαντλητικών συνθηκών εργασίας. Ο Υπουργός Υγείας απαντά ότι κακώς νιώθει εξουθενωμένη και ότι δεν έπρεπε να δημοσιεύσει το βίντεο. Ακολουθεί ένας εσμός φανατικών που καταφέρεται με μίσος κατά της νεαρής γιατρού, αναγκάζοντάς την να διαγράψει το βίντεο. Εν ολίγοις προσάπτουν στην νεαρή γιατρό πολιτική σκοπιμότητα, ενώ στον Υπουργό αποδίδεται τεκμήριο αμεροληψίας. Το πρόβλημα λοιπόν δεν είναι οι εξαντλητικοί ρυθμοί εργασίας στο ΕΣΥ, το πρόβλημα είναι όσοι διαμαρτύρονται. Αντιλαμβάνεστε πόσο τρομακτικό είναι αυτό;

@LinconOsiris2 @I_Ethem_Emre @cuneytozdemir If we had any intention of occupy islands,we’d have already done so but wedonot have such an intention. You’re unnecessarily militarizing islands and provoking tensions. We already visit islands as tourists; we’ve NO intention of occupation. Howelse can we make this any clearer?

The Greek foreign minister visited Tripoli and held talks on maritime delimitation with Libya’s internationally recognized government. Despite Turkey’s pressure and leverage, all sides in Libya are aware that the 2019 Turkish–Libyan maritime deal lacks legitimacy.

Classic Turkish disinformation. The 12 nm limit is universally recognised as customary international law, which binds all states regardless of ratification of UNCLOS. Also, international maritime traffic, including Turkish vessels, already transits freely through Greek territorial waters and the narrow straits between the Aegean islands. Turkey simply refuses to accept where its borders end in the Aegean-typical bully behaviour.

New York Mayor Mamdani published the text given to him by the Armenian lobby without examining it. No Armenians were killed on April 24. Until World War I, Armenians rebelled approximately forty times. During World War I, taking advantage of the Ottoman Empire’s engagements with the Russian army in the East, they took the final step toward independence. They significantly impaired Ottoman supply and provisioning lines. In addition, by forming armed bands, they started to massacre civilian Turks, Kurds, Circassians, and Arabs living in Eastern Anatolia. When the Ottoman government, despite all its efforts, was unable to prevent the onslaughts of Armenian terrorists, it published the Circular of April 24, which closed Armenian committees such as Dashnaksutyun and Hunchak, and led to the arrest of individuals confirmed to be associated with these organizations. No conflicts occurred during the arrests of April 24, and no prominent Armenian was killed. However, the arrest of the leadership cadre of the committees rendered the potential rebellion leaderless and ineffective. Prominent Armenians did not heed the warnings of Talat Pasha and other statesmen to give up their dream of independence. Armed bands continued their massacres. They killed thousands of Muslims by supporting the Russian army during the siege of Van, which ended with its invasion on May 15. In response to this situation, the Ottoman government was forced to enact deportation measures on 27 May. As the late historian İlber Ortaylı stated, the Armenian deportation of 1915 was not a precaution against a possible rebellion. Rather, the Act of Deportation in 1915 was a response to an actual rebellion and collaboration with the enemy army, and it was inevitable under the circumstances of the time. It was planned that 924,158 people would be deported. However, not all of them were deported. Approximately 650,000 Armenians were deported and transported. Six months later, the deportations were halted. Therefore, the number of deported Armenians was lower. Also, after the Armistice of Mudros in 1918, a significant portion of the deported Armenians had returned to Anatolia. When deportation became inevitable, security measures were taken for the lives and property of the deported Armenians. However, due to either the persecutions of Armenians against the Muslim populace in the hinterland or the personal inadequacies of some individuals, some unwanted events occurred. The Ottoman government investigated the crimes committed during the deportation and punished those responsible.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor

Today marks the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. As we honor the 1.5 million Armenians murdered by the Ottoman Empire across modern-day Turkey, Syria, and Armenia, we must refuse to let history repeat itself. In 2020, the military forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey attacked the Armenian population in Nagorno-Karabakh. In 2023, Azerbaijan expelled over 100,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, continuing the genocidal campaign that had begun over 100 years prior. On this day of remembrance, we reaffirm the right of the Armenian people — and all people — to freedom, safety, and self-determination.

Can’t be surprised by this bull$h!t post given who authored it. But since Asli’s beloved regime doesn’t recognize the Republic of Cyprus - which just happens to hold the rotating Presidency of the 🇪🇺 - why doesn’t she enlighten us as to what the sense of inviting the regime occupying the northern part of the Republic of Cyprus to a meeting not only located in, but convened by, the same 🇨🇾. Inane criticism.
