@CynicalPublius @jakejakeny All the folks talking about how embarrassing this is - are they saying it's embarrassing we were caught by surprise on 12/7/41? Or are they saying we should be embarrassed for being attacked by Japan? Or, we should be embarrassed about remembering it? Be specific.

@C_3C_3 In 2020 and 2021 at least 1/2 of the deficit was unnecessary - not saying it was 1/2 fraud, but definitely at least 1/2 unneeded.

Iran enriched uranium to a level far beyond the needs of energy or isotope production - the only explanation is they were pursuing a nuclear weapon. They paused at 60% to focus on ballistic missile tech. Once they had that, they'd enrich the 60% to weapons grade. Then we'd have an entirely different problem. Armed conflict rarely happens at a time that BOTH sides choose - typically you either choose to initiate at a time you choose, or you are forced to respond when the other guy chooses. Iran was pursuing a nuclear weapon.

"Khamenei issued a fatwa against nuclear weapons" is pure taqqiyeh and gaslighting. It was only ever a tool for swamping the West in endless negotiations and bad faith diplomacy, to push through the awful JCPOA. "Why would the ayatollah ever lie?" is Obama level logic.

@realDailyWire The Japanese PM has very expressive eyes - she's looking at the reporter with a smile, but her eyes say "why would you ask that and complicate this meeting." And also "Don't ask any more dumb questions please"

This might actually be Trump's funniest moment 😂 Japanese Reporter: Why didn't you tell us before you struck Iran? Trump: "Why didn't you tell me about Pearl Harbor?" 💀🔥😂

@LL_PATRIOT Glad to collaborate with Japan on anything - they are a great US ally, and a great country. Wonderful people too. But the US should be the most dominant nuclear energy producer in the world - we fell behind due to misplaced fear and bad politics. Time to reclaim our lead.

There are people who will bring up Israel in the most unrelated discussions ever. They could be talking about how they’re broke but have to get new brakes, and they’ll find some way to blame Israel. It’s a weird type of schizophrenia I only see on X. Medicate these people.

@StealthMedical1 Nothing personal, but does this photo look like Tucker asked someone to "Build me a set that makes me look masculine". It's like a faux-manly podcast studio. Doesn't look like the SF born / boarding school reality of Tuckers upbringing.

KENT'S FALSE CLAIMS In Carlson interview, Joe Kent doubles down on Israel conspiracy theories. After alleging his resigning from the National Counter terrorism Center was over the Iran conflict, it seems more than likely it was over Tucker's statements that his texts messages with others were under FBI and CIA investigation. Kent used an appearance on Tucker Carlson’s show to level accusations about "Israeli influence on U.S. policy" to cover for his own personal "alleged leaking" regarding confidential Intelligence.

This makes perfect sense from China's perspective - they want to support anyone that can be used to harm the US - Iran, North Korea - they're all Chinese attack dogs.
John Spencer@SpencerGuard

"How China Is Quietly Helping an Isolated Iran Survive" @WSJ wsj.com/world/how-chin… China is Iran's most important economic partner. Roughly 90% of Iran's 1.6 million barrels a day of crude oil exports are sold to China, providing Tehran with the equivalent of tens of billions of dollars of revenue each year. Iran manages a complex, clandestine shadow-banking network globally that is facilitated by China, U.S. officials allege. China's teapot refiners pay for Iranian oil in the Chinese currency, the yuan, and Tehran uses some of the money to buy products in China that are then shipped to Iran. According to U.S. officials, Chinese companies continued, however, to be a critical supplier of goods with potential military applications, such as motors that have been used in Iran's Shahed drones, chemicals for rocket fuels and electronics for an array of weapons. China-based commercial satellite firms have participated in business exchanges with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Pentagon said in December. Last year, two ships linked to an Iranian state company left China loaded with 1,000 tons of a material that could be used to make a main ingredient for a solid propellant of some 260 midrange missiles, The Wall Street Journal has reported. In mid-2025, Iran ordered thousands of tons of missile fuel ingredients from China, according to Journal reporting. The Chinese government has said it is unaware of specific orders but maintains strict control on so-called dual-use items that have both civilian and military applications.

Just ate at McDonald's in Germany on the way to the Alps. German McDonalds is FAR superior to McDonald's in the US! They treat it like an actual sit down restaurant amd the food doesnt make you feel like crap. Why don't we do it like this?

@DrunkRepub Geopolitics can be complicated, it's possible that Israel and Iran agreed to all of this ahead of time. It's also possible that all this messaging was pre-agreed-upon as well.

Israel’s essential strike on Iran’s key gas fields today comes as an embarrassing shock to the same European nations who buy massive amounts of Russian oil even as they support Ukraine in the war with Moscow. You see, taking out the enemy’s financial pipeline is how you END wars.

Two things can be true at the same time: 1. A combat veteran with 11 deployments, Ranger tab, and SOF time can have served honorably and well, doing All The Hard Things. 2. That same veteran can inexplicably take a blowtorch to his reputation and career for unknown reasons.

BREAKING: Iran’s President Pezeshkian is weighing resignation. He told aides: “The IRGC blocks me from all military and strategic decisions and won’t even let me speak to the Supreme Leader. I feel useless.” The regime is falling apart.

@EYakoby @jakejakeny The IRGC has run the Iranian military with a tight fist, and had deep ties into the economy as well. Iran is essentially a theocracy that is run by the military.
