Awful news I have his โSalute!โ Book about the England teamโs โown goalโ at the Olympiastadion in 1938 and also read his excellent book on Neil Franklin & others going playing in Colombia in the 1950s.

@JohnLeonard1908 Worked with John at Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Games (YOG)/Rumsey TV. Remember some of his advice on writing especially. After YOG, we often spoke via DM here about books he authored/was writing and any I wanted to write.

Everyone at the podcast is deeply saddened to learn of Johnโs passing.
John was a guest on our podcast in 2023 to talk about Tony Waddingtonโs time at Stoke, being a great font of knowledge on the subject after he wrote his superb book on the same topic, and as the person who sat down and recorded the pod with John it was a pleasure to do and his personality and passion came through in buckets.

@JohnLeonard1908 I'm very sorry to hear that. John and I were in touch on a number of occasions regarding EFC and Stoke City links, including Roy Vernon and the poaching of players to play in Columbia after WW2. A lovely, knowledgeable man. My condolences go to his nearest and dearest.
