Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested in Alberton: Two suspects have been arrested following a series of street robberies in the General Alberts Park and Mayberry Park areas earlier today. Private security teams, CPS Security and React 24, tracked down the suspected getaway vehicle and located the suspects at a premises. A firearm and narcotics (Mandrax) were recovered during the operation. South African Police Service officers from Alberton SAPS arrested both suspects. Stolen items, including cellphones, were also recovered from a local pawn shop. Police have confirmed that one victim has opened a case and are urging other victims to come forward. KZN authorities hunt reckless driver after video sparks outrage: KwaZulu-Natal transport authorities have launched a manhunt for a reckless driver captured in a shocking video, as officials ramp up a zero-tolerance crackdown on dangerous behaviour on the province’s roads. MEC for Transport and Human Settlements, Siboniso Duma, confirmed that the Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) is actively searching for the driver and his associates, urging the suspect to hand himself over. Members of the public with information have been called on to assist. The video has drawn widespread condemnation, with authorities saying the public backlash strengthens ongoing efforts to curb reckless driving. The latest incident comes despite a reported decline in road fatalities and crashes over the Easter and Passover weekend.
