Happy news!!! Thanks to shares across social media, Lyra has been offered a rescue shelter space and has escaped being killed in a council pound today #UK 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀 Thank you everyone!! Good luck Lyra xx🐶❤️🏡🎖️ facebook.com/NorthwestPound…

Urgent, please retweet to help Lyra find a rescue shelter space North West #UK DUE TO BE KILLED IN A COUNCIL POUND FRIDAY 27 MARCH 2026 💔💔💔💔💔 Lyra will die without a confirmed rescue space by Friday the 27th Lyra will be put to sleep due to lack of kennel space. A beautiful, young and loving girl. Please help us to stop this happening by tagging and sharing to rescue contacts. Not available for adoption Lyra is dog friendly, clean and calm in her kennel but does have interdigital cysts on both front feet. Please note we are unable to release these dogs directly to the public they are looking for a space in a rescue. If you are a UK rescue with space please message this page or email us at northwestpoundies@gmail.com Transport can be arranged to rescues upto 3 hrs away from the BB postcode area of Lancashire any further and help will be needed from the recieving rescue. LYRA HAS £350 IN HER RESCUE POT To donate towards helping us to get these dog safe the details are below: Even a £1 will help towards us saving these dogs. PayPal is northwestpounddogs@gmail.com Bank transfer North West Pound Dogs Nat West Account number 23660821 Sort code 01-02-20 Thank you ANY OFFERS OF SPACE MUST COME FROM THE RESCUE OFFERING. WE DO NOT AND HAVE NEVER ASK FOR PLEDGES. We understand that feeling run high and people feel angry when this happens but It’s really important people understand what’s actually happening behind the scenes with pound dogs in the UK When we share urgent posts, it’s not to upset people or be dramatic — it’s because these dogs are genuinely at risk due to lack of space. Council pounds have a legal duty to hold stray dogs for a set period, but they don’t have unlimited kennels. When those kennels are full and more dogs keep coming in, incredibly difficult decisions have to be made. The heartbreaking truth is: it isn’t the people sharing these posts, and it isn’t the pound staff, who are to blame. The people working in pounds are often animal lovers themselves, doing the best they can in an impossible situation. The real issue starts much earlier. It’s the result of: Dogs being bred without thought or responsibility Owners not neutering their pets People buying dogs without understanding the commitment Dogs being abandoned, passed around, or handed in when life changes By the time a dog reaches the pound, the system is already under pressure — and the options are limited. When we post these dogs, we are trying to prevent that outcome, not cause it. Every share, every foster home, every adoption gives a dog a chance that they otherwise wouldn’t have. We understand it’s upsetting — it upsets us too. But turning on the people trying to help doesn’t change the reality for these dogs. If you want to make a difference, the best ways to help are: Consider fostering or adopting Support rescues and pounds Promote responsible ownership and neutering Share the dogs that need homes We’re all on the same side here — trying to give these dogs the second chance they deserve North West Pound UK CONTACT IF YOU CAN OFFER A RESCUE SPACE facebook.com/NorthwestPound… EMAIL northwestpoundies@gmail.com #dogs #dog @thismorning @loosewomen @KatieAmess @DavidBowles21 @RSPCA_official @HopeRescue @themayhew @AllDogsMatter @DogsTrust @JaneFallon @rickygervais @liamgallagher @itvnews @BBCNews @GMB @NickDixonITV @GBNEWS @PatrickChristys @ConservativeAWF @marcthevet @domdyer70 @PeterEgan6 @APDAWG1 @PETAUK @BBCPanorama @SkyNews @DailyMirror @TheSun Lyra due to be killed in a council pound Friday 27 2026 #UK - Not available for adoption, please share.

Hopefully you will never need us, but if you do, please rest assured that we will do everything we can to make sure your pet goes to a home that matches their needs. This was the case this week with Rada. Heartbreakingly her previous owner who loved her very very much is now receiving end of life care but wanted to ensure that Rada was safe and rehomed so she has peace of mind in those final days. Our team took the initial call from Radas owner many weeks ago, but placed the rehoming on hold until her owner decided she needed our help. That call came back in last week and we managed to find Paul and his wife in Kilwinning. With the help of our home checker in Kilwinning a home check was done as a priority and all details passed to Rada’s owner. Rada had sadly went into kennels by this point as her owner was moved into hospital. The lovely staff at Brumley Brae Kennels in Elgin made sure that Rada was safe and looked after and we kept in touch with them throughout the process to make it as smooth as possible for Rada. Once the home check was accepted, we then arranged the transport, from Elgin to Kilwinning. Our Dundee volunteer set off on Monday morning at 7.30am destined for Elgin, arriving just after 10am and picking up Rada. From there she was transported via a wet and windy A9 to Perth to our Glasgow volunteer Margaret who then took Rada to Kilwinning. It must have been such a long day for this lovely girl, but she got there. Our transporters reported how she was such a great passenger, only getting up to look out the window when the car had stopped, usually at traffic lights or road works. We’ve since had an update from Paul, Radas new owner who said, “A note to let you know that Rada is settling-in well and has had a good, quiet night snug in her bed. She is a lovely girl. A few photos attached (we have not let her off the lead outdoors yet, but that will come within the garden as she settles-in) A big thank you to you all and her previous owner. She loves her bed and the glowing embers of the fire at night! Regards, Paul & Penny” We wish Rada all the best in her new home and hope she is happy. Her previous owner continues to be updated by our team too. If you need help, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Although a small team, we are always happy to help as much as we can. You can email info@help2rehome.com or call our dedicated rehoming team on 0330 133 4594 between 10am and 4pm Monday - Saturday - as we are a small team, if you don’t get an answer , leave a voicemail and we will get back to you.

Any lingering doubt I had about leaving the ECHR just ended Seems to me the "right to life" doesn't mean very much in our new, amoral, autonomy obsessed world where desperately vulnerable people who need help are cheered on while in the pits of despair We should all be ashamed

Urgent please retweet to help blind Lucy find a foster/forever home, within 3 hours drive of #GLASGOW #SCOTLAND #UK 💔💔💔 Details or apply below 👇 oldies.org.uk/2026/urgent-ap…? URGENT APPEAL ~ for a foster-to-adopt home for little Lucy, a blind dog. The home MUST be in a quiet countryside location, child-free, pet-free, terrier-loving, and kind, with its own private, secure garden and within a three-hour drive of Glasgow. oldies.org.uk/.../urgent-app…... We realise these are rather specific requirements and so would really appreciate your help in reaching the right person(s). We are keen to move Lucy to a foster home where she is very likely to be adopted by her foster carer, so that she doesn't have to be moved again, hence this foster-to-adopt appeal. Oldies Club will arrange transport to her new foster home and cover the cost of any vet care she might need while in foster, until she is adopted Lucy is a 12-year old Jack Russell Terrier, who originally came into Oldies Club care a year ago. She was adopted by her foster carer, but sadly is no longer happy there due to the location of the home and the need to be walked where there is loud traffic noise, which increasingly frightens her Lucy loves to sit on your lap and enjoy very gentle strokes, but no cuddles, thank you very much! Due to being blind, she can be startled and does have some quirks. If you are going to touch her, you need to gently let her know first. She loves adult visitors to the home, welcoming them and bring her toys for them to play with her. Her bed is her safe space, where she is left in peace and where she sleeps downstairs at night (she couldn't manage a full flight of stairs). Lucy loves a car ride and gets very excited! She is fine to be lifted carefully into the car, but is generally not keen on being picked up. She is seeking a home in the countryside, with not too many other dogs around, as she is frightened of meeting dogs. She walks confidently once she has had a chance to mentally map out a regular route and enjoys a good sniff about in peaceful environments . She is only let off-lead in a secure garden. Lucy can be left at home for around three hours, once settled into the home. She is house-trained, active for her age and generally in good health. Please read through all the info on her page: oldies.org.uk/.../urgent-app…... and only offer to foster Lucy if you truly believe your home and situation to be a good match and if you have no holiday plans. If you're not her person-to-be, please help spread the word. Thank you - @oldiesclub #dogs #dog #adoptdontshop @KatieAmess

Casper and Nancy are still available and looking for a home. Six beautiful little souls were waiting for six big hearts to say “yes”. 4 of the siblings have found homes 2 still remain. Meet Casper and Nancy — approximately 8-month-old puppies who have already survived more in their short lives than most dogs ever will. Together with their gentle mum Maddie, these babies were discovered living inside a rusty, abandoned train carriage. Every day, kind Marija would trek out to them with food, fresh water and flea treatment, doing everything she could to keep them alive. But with trains thundering past just metres away, she was terrified one of them would wander onto the tracks. So she asked for help… and, thank goodness, we were able to step in. Now they’re safe in pension, warm and fed for the first time in their lives. But a pension pen is still a cage, and these babies deserve gardens to zoom around in, sofas to snuggle on and a family to call their own. All pups are now fully vaccinated, and every single one will be microchipped and neutered/spayed before they travel to their new homes from North Macedonia if old enough for the procedure 🇲🇰 They’re expected to grow into happy, healthy medium-sized dogs — perfect companions for almost any home. Imagine one of these little faces waiting at your door when you come home, tail wagging like a helicopter, eyes shining with pure love they’ve never been allowed to give before. Could you be the person who turns their story from abandonment to adoration? If your heart is whispering “maybe”, please reach out. We’ll tell you everything about the puppy (or puppies!) who’s caught your eye, send extra photos and videos, and guide you every step of the way. wa.me/message/WQCF55… facebook.com/LendAPawRescue Home checks and an adoption fee apply. Full settling-in support and lifelong rescue back-up promised — because once you’re part of our family, you’re part of it forever. 2 puppies. 2 second chances needed. Will one of them be yours? 💔➡️❤️

They thought she was just being moved in a wheelbarrow… but she was on her way to be put down. She wasn’t sick or aggressive, just scared. Right before it was too late, a rescue team saw her and saved her. 💛 Now she’s safe, loved, and finally home.

Good morning from new mum Alice ❤️ She had the most peaceful, well deserved sleep last night, and it was so lovely to see her truly rest.❤️ All ten of her babies are doing really well, tiny, content, and already so loved. Alice woke to feed them a few times through the night and each time settled right back down again after she at also. She’s taking it all in her stride. Such a young little mum, and yet so gentle, attentive, and instinctive. It’s hard not to feel a bit emotional watching her, she’s doing an amazing job. This morning she’s bright, alert, and calm… just quietly taking care of her babies like she’s always known how ❤️ Very proud of this special girl, all routing for you Alice ❤️❤️❤️ donate.mylovelyhorserescue.com/one-off/ ❤️❤️
