This duo wrote this for Whitney Houston after "How Will I Know" and "I Wanna Dance with Somebody." Belinda Carlisle recorded it but passed, so they released it themselves. It became a hit in '88. Do you remember it or who sang it?

The Malcolm X-style “Star Wars is about how the white man keeps the brother man down” in Chasing Amy (29 today) is a brilliant, satirical jab at over-analytical fan culture. "You got cracker farm boy Luke Skywalker... then you got Darth Vader, the blackest brother in the galaxy"

@SamQuinnCBS Shaq is more comparable to lebron in that they both moved around and were paired with top talent at their pos (shaq: penny, kobe, wade. Bron: wade, kyrie, AD) Personally i dont see shaq/tim career as comparable despite both being big man

@SamQuinnCBS Nets were perceived as overachiever. Personally i think kidd should have earned an mvp at that point.

@jackfreemanjr Kids not aware early to mid 90s nike start catching flak with 100 buck shoes and it got worse. Jordans were coveted but late 90s adidas start catching up and there was great choice (even within nike’s own range). I wore stack 2’s in the late 90s. Fila and kangol were hot brands

@amerhadiazmi In practice it goes a bit like this: if city senang bawak luggage, design is excellent (above average). but at same time its not defining criteria you judge its acceptability/basic requirement If city still struggles with basic - using higher parameters is hindrance to discourse

@amerhadiazmi Heart is in the right place but have no basis in planning school of thought. Lugging luggage through the streets is a real world issue but its not high in the priority of why n how we design for walkable environment. Tourism is one of factor to maintain inter city transport.

One short visit to, say, Hong Kong, would give our city planners a good idea of how a good pedestrian infrastructure ought to function. But the trip needs to be one where no one picks them up from the airport and forces them to drag their luggage through the city.
Slainthayer@slainthayer

If we want to make KL a more walkable city, 1 overlooked aspect by everyone is how punishingly long it took for people to wait for the green-man to cross the street I did 5 tests near KLCC on 2 separate crossing, one have to wait 100 secs after pressing the beg button

One of the strongest arguments for Duncan's defensive gravity (and for the greatness of his career) is that he thwarted the Kobe-Shaq Lakers almost alone. They were coming off a 3-peat and he beat them, with (respectfully) the shadow of David Robinson and very green versions of Parker and Manu. And he came within one supremely unlucky (badly clock-timed) shot of doing it again, without Robinson, against a Lakers attempt at a super-team.
Bd@irB@ll@Bd_irB_ll

"How much credit should Duncan get for them funneling players to him in the paint." All the credit??? They did that cause he was insane
