@mdt546 Actually you can buy a portable charger and use this by plugging it to a regular outlet. Takes longer to charge but you can just keep it plugged when you are home. We haven’t needed to spend money on a station and it works perfectly fine at low cost.

@netanyahu The war didn’t start on October 7, it started way before that because of how your country has been treating Palestine. How about finding a way to get peace on both sides instead of killing children and women who can’t defend themselves.

By asking Israel to end a defensive war for our survival before Hamas terrorists on our border are destroyed and by demanding a Palestinian state, the leaders in London, Ottowa and Paris are offering a huge prize for the genocidal attack on Israel on October 7 while inviting more such atrocities. The war began on October 7 when Palestinian terrorists stormed our borders, murdered 1,200 innocent people and abducted over 250 more innocents to the dungeons of Gaza. Israel accepts President Trump's vision and urges all European leaders to do the same. The war can end tomorrow if the remaining hostages are released, Hamas lays down its arms, its murderous leaders are exiled and Gaza is demilitarized. No nation can be expected to accept anything less and Israel certainly wont. This is a war of civilization over barbarism. Israel will continue to defend itself by just means until total victory is achieved.

@JasonPtvn @birgitomo So not really maternity leave. We get about a year of paid maternity leave (not 100%, but at least 55%) then you can take an extra year unpaid without risking losing your job. Dads are also highly encouraged to take their paternity leave too.

@ClemZiroli @therabbithole Canada actually does that; the mother gets up to a year of paid leave and the father also get paid leave; you get extra bonus weeks if you both take your leave (to encourage bonding). We also get child benefits from both provincial and federal governments (according to income)

@Jade4813 What?! This is insane! We are very very lucky here and there are subsidized daycares, so the price is decent and fixed. The private ones can be much more costly (50$/day versus 9.50$/day), but you get some money back from it depending of your income.

I understand that childcare costs can vary due to what program(s) you choose. But is there any good reason they can’t put a price list online so you can get an idea of whether you’d be looking at costs in the hundreds or thousands before touring their facility?

@EudaimoniaEsq Going to be 35 (95F) the next few days in Montreal 🥵 we have the infrastructure for it though so we will just go out for what we need and work with AC. But I’m pretty sure the infrastructure is different in Europe, and 26 might feel much worse if they are not used to it.
