Introducing Midstate. A peer-to-peer electronic cash system engineered from the ground up for the edge. No elliptic curves. No ASICs. No MEV. Just pure BLAKE3 mathematics running on a $15 Raspberry Pi. The post-quantum frontier is here. 🧵👇

if you have problems with connectivity, try adding the bootstrap directly as a tcp peer i.e. at the command line append --peer /ip4/134.199.148.215/tcp/9333/p2p/12D3KooWRACBS3RTvszkfPsq4nMw1sZUyNuGAD3SswqsybnoyDcA

gm #midstate! theres been a lot of work on the ibd. the latest version is signifiantly more robust. update immediately. (nb we have also had to resync the bootstrap server so the rpc.cypherpunk.gold explorer wont be up to date for a while. github.com/ciphernom/mids…

Albo stands in front of Woolies and seriously asks if $50 a week is enough for one person’s groceries. Mate, for $50 I can get three days of rice, beans, and silent resentment. The other four days I’ll just lick the condensation off the fridge and dream of vegetables and meat. FFS.

Michael Saylor: “If quantum computing hacks your email, does it break the English language?” Language doesn’t break. You upgrade the tools around it and the protocol stays. Bitcoin is built on engineering principles, mathematical soundness, consistency, integrity, truth. The same way airplanes are built on strict physical laws, where systems must be reliable and consistent to work. Bitcoin follows those same principles.

We're supposed to believe that both of these are true: 1. Anthropic trained an LLM so smart at security that it will usher in a cybersecurity apocalypse. 2. Anthropic's security is so bad that they had multiple failures & data leaks in the span of a few weeks.

Couples hoping to start a family are being urged to filter their tap water to ensure it's free of PFAS. The dangerous forever chemicals, which are often still used in non-stick pans and food packaging, have been found to reduce fertility.

@midstate_dev @WolfOfWallStETH I was running the node in one terminal window while scanning the wallet in another terminal window. I have not tried restoring the wallet in another terminal window while specifying a new path. I will try that next if you think it will help.

if you hold any amount of $WOLF @WolfOfWallStETH i will send you 1 BILLION midstate tokens. You just go to ciphernom.github.io/midstate/ and create a new wallet, get an address and post it below! (ofc if you can use the full node software you can get a privatish WOTS address by running midstate wallet receive)

@crypto_spawn @WolfOfWallStETH so in one tab you would have the midstate node running, in the other tab you would run midstate wallet restore <24 words> --path new_wallet.dat

@crypto_spawn @WolfOfWallStETH are you running the node at the same time as using the wallet (thats its design intent). ie. midstate node in one tab, midstate wallet in another

@crypto_spawn @WolfOfWallStETH Maybe try restoring the wallet from seed and running scan. The address is definitely holding 1b coins you can see it in the explorer

If you really think about it, Satoshi was the one that painted the biggest target on @adam3us’s back. ➡️ Used British English when writing ➡️ Embedded a headline from a UK newspaper in the Genesis Block ➡️ Out of all the people cited in the whitepaper, he mentions Adam by name

@midstate_dev And this kills LN which depends on that same Schnoor based key path spend. See, we told you a blocksize increase was the way forward for multiple reasons besides this.

Taproot addresses are cooked from a quantum perspective. Receiving to them exposes your public key. Segwit for the win.
