“I think that the California high-speed rail nightmare is the probably quintessential example of government waste and mismanagement,” says Rep. Vince Fong, a Republican whose district sits in California’s Central Valley, through which the project is supposed to run. cbsn.ws/41kxw9k

I love that baseball fans will be able to visit the glove from the Jo Adell three-robbery game at the @baseballhall, that’s awesome. It’s pretty safe to say that’s a record that will never be broken; you’d have to do it four times in a game!
National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum ⚾@baseballhall

When a game becomes The Game, Cooperstown comes calling. Jo Adell is donating his glove from Saturday’s @Angels victory to the Hall of Fame.

@elonmusk I was wondering what statistics might show. Nevertheless, obviously you must still pay attention but it’s sooooo good. Set the address and self-driving takes you there. The best CNote I spend each month. 👍🏻

Tesla self-driving saves a lot of lives – the statistics are unequivocal. That doesn’t mean it’s perfect, of course. Even when we improve safety 10X, saving 90% of the million lives lost in auto accidents every year, Tesla will still get sued for the 10% who did die. The 90% who are still alive mostly won’t even know that Tesla saved them. Nonetheless, it is the right thing to do.
Elliot Cohen@ElliotCohe74430

Tesla FSD just saved two lives on the highway. A man walked straight into traffic in heavy fog/rain at 65+ mph. The Model 3 spotted him and swerved safely. Could’ve been fatal for both the pedestrian and my cousin driving. Insane reaction time. Grateful for @elonmusk @Tesla

Jason Day was asked ahead of The Masters whether he has any empathy for what Tiger Woods is going through and he gave a brilliant answer that a lot of people can probably agree with: “So yeah, in regards to Tiger, it just shows the human element and the human side of someone that is struggling with some sort of an addiction. He's not immune to it just because he can hit a golf ball really well. He's had 25 to 30 something surgeries, and when you're going through that many procedures, it's painful coming out of those procedures. I've had procedures done and I typically try and stay away from all that stuff because I just know that -- painkillers, there can potentially be a downfall to it. “Granted, when I look at that, I look at it and go, he's just a human being like everyone else and we have struggles. It's unfortunate, the only thing that I don't understand is that it's a little bit selfish of him to drive and put other people in harm's way, as well. “But when you're the player that he was and how strong-willed he is, he thinks he can do almost anything, and that's probably why he's probably driving and a little bit under the influence. “He was my hero -- he's my hero. He was my hero growing up. The reason why I play golf is because of this tournament and Tiger. It's hard to see him go through what he's going through, and especially under the microscope that -- it must be hard to be who he is and have everything, everyone look on, kind of down on him. “Some people want him to fail. Some people obviously want him to succeed. It's really difficult for me to go through that and watch him, and I know that he's getting the help now, which is good. I'm just hoping he comes out on the other side and is better.” Well said. @JDayGolf @TheMasters

🌺 MASTERS WEEK IS HERE 🌺 Giving this wedge to whoever guesses the winner and their score to par in the comments. If you like it, guess the winner and score and it's yours. If you hate it, guess the winner and score and I'll ship it to someone you hate. Win-win. Good luck!

@necky_fade Even if he eagles the hole (unlikely) he still would’ve been 2 back. He was probably thinking if I make 4 and Langer makes par I’m 2 back with 3 to go. He got some unneeded grief. IMO: The awful wedge is what made laying up look worse.

Watching the ANWA was a good reality check for those of us (i.e. most of us) with swing speeds 100 mph or less. These are the yardages the 4 par 5s played at the ANWA today. -Hole 2 (Pink Dogwood): 515 yards -Hole 8 (Yellow Jasmine): 480 yards -Hole 13 (Azalea): 455 yards -Hole 15 (Firethorn): 475 yards For the vast majority of golfers, these are the distances par 5s need to be to be reached in 2 shots. While we're at it, a driveable par 4 for the vast majority of golfers is 260 yards or less. I know this is X where everyone hits it 330. But if you're following me, you know I don't hit it that far. The best thing for my game has been being realistic about my distances and playing tees that are challenging yet still give me a chance to take a few shots on.

Most hospitals don't know their costs. Things I've asked for that made them roll their eyes : A BOM for surgeries P&L for each insurance carrier P&L for Medicaid or Medicare business Why do they need consultants for everything. Why doesn't their CSuite know how to do any of it Why do they use GPOs when prices are insane Why do they work with carriers that underpay, late pay, deny everything, waste docs time with denial committees run by 97 yr old pediatricians. Why do they make no effort to sell direct to employers (excluding those on costpluswellness.com to avoid all the carrier abuse , and avoid being sub prime lenders for patient OOP Why do they abuse 340b Why do facilities fees exist Why do they abuse site neutrality Why do they abuse patients with charge master based bills Why do they not push for standard contract templates to reduce admin. Why do they accept so many different ins plans Anyone want to add more And for context, remember I think the biggest insurance companies are worse
Vexity@xVexity

@mcuban Because reimbursement is often set below cost. Medicare—especially Medicaid—pay fixed rates that frequently don’t cover staffing, infrastructure, and 24/7 care. Hospitals can’t refuse those patients so the gap gets made up elsewhere.
